A Little History

Elektra attended New York’s Columbia University where she befriended another student named Matt Murdock. As their friendship began to blossom, Matt let her know that he developed superhuman senses to compensate for this blindness.  The two quickly fell in love and remained that way for a long time.

One year later, Elektra and her Greek Ambassador Father found themselves held captive in a building on campus.  She, along with Matt was able to easily defeat the captors, leaving Elektra and her father to walked away unscathed, or so they thought. Unfortunately, as they left the building, a nearby police officer mistook her father for one of the captors and shot him.

Shattered and distraught, Elektra ran to Japan. While in Japan, she trained in Martial Arts and under the guidance of a man named Stick, joined an organization known as The Chaste. She thrived under Stick until he determined that he could not free her from the pain that she carried because of the death of her father. Unceremoniously, she was asked to leave.

Scorned and looking to show Stick the error of his ways, she rejoined her first sensei, infiltrated a group of ninja’s known as The Hand, and at the pinnacle of her victory, was convinced by The Hand to turn on her sensei resulting in his death. The Hand then spent the next number of years shaping her into the ultimate assassin.
