John Boyega Ready to Turn Down Role of a Lifetime Proves that He Still Holds a Grudge Against Disney

If you follow our MCU news & updates frequently you are probably aware that Marvel Studios is looking for a new actor to replace Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror. Following Majors’ legal troubles and subsequent conviction, the actor was let go and pretty much blacklisted by Hollywood.

Several names have been thrown around as potential replacements, but it eventually led to nothing as the latest rumors indicate that Marvel Studios is close to finding an actor but nothing has been signed yet.

One of the names mentioned in that context was John Boyega. Boyega became planetary famous following his major role in the Star Wars sequel trilogy as Finn. His character was ultimately butchered, which is one of the most criticized aspects of the movie series.

Fan recently asked Boyega whether he would be interested in taking on the role of Kang the Conqueror and the actor said no despite many pointing out that it’s essentially the role of a lifetime and quite a lucrative deal.

Now Boyega did not recently comment on it but many fans pointed out that he most likely wants nothing to do with Disney. Boyega confirmed several years ago that he will not be reprising his role as Finn in the upcoming Star Wars movies as the actor said that he was done with the franchise.

Boyega didn’t exactly like the way that he was treated while filming the sequel trilogy. At one point, he also felt that the writers and directors mistreated Finn because they wasted what could have been one of the best character arcs in the sequels.

Boyega also said that he has already moved on from his issues with how he and Finn were handled during the filming of the sequel trilogy. He was always a fan of Star Wars but felt he needed to move on from this issue and this part of his life. That is why he said that his current goal as an actor is versatility, as he doesn’t want people to box him into the Finn role like how actors like Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were boxed into their Star Wars roles.

Since Star Wars is owned by Disney, it makes sense that he would avoid Marvel Studios as well.
