Michael Lesslie Reportedly Pitched a Full ‘X-Men 97’ Roster for Upcoming MCU Reboot

MCU’s upcoming ‘X-Men’ reboot is one of the most exciting projects that fans are looking forward to. It’s going to serve as an official introduction of the team to the massive cinematic universe and restart the universe that Fox so far had rights to.

Not much is known about the movie, except that the studio wants a perfect balance between humor and drama and they are looking to bring previously unadapted mutants to live action.

Recently we learned that Michael Lesslie was chosen by the studio to pen the script for the upcoming reboot. Lesslie is in recent times most notable for penning ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,’ and therefore is considered one of the better choices for the reboot.

According to Daniel Richtman, notable scooper, and leaker, Lesslie already pitched his potential team for the MCU, and it’s the full roster of ‘X-Men ’97.

This means that MCU’s reboot would have the following team: Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Storm, Beast, Gambit, Jubilee, Jean Grey, Professor X, Morph, Bishop, Magneto, Nightcrawler and Sunspot.

It’s understandable that Lesslie wants to cash in on the success of the animated series. The show was a surprise hit for Marvel Studios, having consistently high critics and audience ratings. The show was renewed for a second season even before the first season’s premiere, and there are talks about the early development of season three as well.

On the other hand, fans have already voiced their discontent at seeing the 90′ X-Men team one more, especially since Kitty Pryde is seemingly being removed in place of Jubilee.
