Rumors Reveal How Exactly Cassandra Nova Got the Sling Ring From the Trailer

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ trailer recently dropped and fans are over the moon. The trailer showed (and confirmed) some of the cameos and variants set to appear in the movie. It referenced some neat stuff from the comics, and at one point we even saw Deadpool & Wolverine using Strange’s Sling Ring to presumably escape.

A Sling Ring is a small mystical ring worn on two fingers that has the ability to create a dimensional gateway to another location or even a different dimension. It was created specifically for the MCU and it is used by Doctor Strange and other masters of mystical arts, so how did Deadpool come across it?

Well, Deadpool likely stole it from someone else, and if Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez is right, Cassandra Nova herself stole it from a variant of Doctor Strange who was Sorcerer Supreme of that reality.

Plenty of fans assumed that Wong would make an appearance in the movie, and this still might happen, but Perez’s explanation seems far more plausible, especially when we take into account Cassandra’s comic history of blood, violence, and genocide.

The second most important question is, where are Deadpool & Wolverine going? To answer this, I’m afraid we’re going to have to wait for the movie.

In the movie, Deadpool is set to return to his crime-fighting tendencies after he is recruited by the TVA to stop his reality from collapsing. Wade will attempt to talk Wolverine into helping him, but judging by the trailer Wolverine will be more than reluctant. The movie will introduce Cassandra Nova to the MCU as the primary villain as well as continue the Multiversal Theme of the MCU.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is scheduled to be released on July 26, 2024, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.
