Surprising Fan Theory Links Doctor Doom and Monica Rambeau in a Bid to Save Reality

It’s been a while since it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. will be returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom. No details regarding his character have been cleared up currently and there are numerous theories spreading online that attempt to explain how he might be incorporated.

The most recent theory posted on X by the user Comicodigy neatly wraps up the ending of ‘The Marvels,’ Doctor Doom & Monica Rambeau while simultaneously partially connecting the ‘Time Runs Out’ storyline that is the best candidate for ‘Doomsday’ adaptation.

The ending of ‘The Marvels’ sees Monica Rambeau accidentally getting stuck in a different reality while trying to seal a rift created by the Universal Neural Teleportation Network. Rambeau had to enter the rift in order to seal it from the other side.

After the difficult task is done Rambeau wakes up in X-Mansion confronted by an alternate version of her mother Maria Rambeau and the Beast.

We’ve already speculated that this reality is likely Earth-838 in which Scarlet Witch killed several members of the Illuminati as Maria Rambeau survived that attack and we already know that X-Men are a thing in that universe.

Now Comicodgy pitched a different theory that claims that Reambeau accidentally found herself in the same universe as Downey’s Doctor Doom. Her involvement with Universal Neural Teleportation Network and the rift accidentally created an Incursion connected to his reality and in an attempt to save his reality from collapsing he will kickstart Doomsday, and then ‘Secret Wars’ by creating Battleworld.

In the comics, During the event, Doctor Doom steals the power of Beyonder in order to “save” reality from Incursions that threaten to destroy both Earth-616 and Ultimate Universe.

Doom is ultimately successful as he manages to rebuild reality from remnants of various other realities and dubs it The Battleworld, which is the point at which the Secret Wars storyline begins.

Several theories suggest that Doom will attempt to do the same thing with the MCU as well, which will explain how the Fantastic Four and X-Men will end up on Earth-616.
