The Only Thing That Can Currently Save MCU’s ‘Blade’ Reboot Is Teamup With Hulk

One extremely anticipated Marvel Studios project that had problems way before the strikes began is ‘Blade.’ It is an MCU-based movie following Eric Brooks, the most notable vampire hunter in comics, and a reboot of the already highly popular ‘Blade’ trilogy that contributed to paving the way for the MCU that we know today.

It would be hard to summarize all the problems that ‘Blade’ had so far, the main star of the movie Mahershala Ali approached the studio with the pitch a long time ago and was officially announced as Blade in 2018. Since then, it’s been a constant cycle of script problems and the movie changed several writers (and directors) over the course of development.

Most recent reports point in the direction of Ali being unhappy with the state of the movie and ready to walk away, as Demange left the production a few months ago, allegedly due to being “difficult to work with.”

Different insider reports paint Ali as the main culprit for the movie taking so long, as he personally picked both the director and writers, pitching the movie to the studio to be his ‘Black Panther’ following his Oscar win.

Now with each passing month, without concrete news regarding the development of the movie, fans are losing their enthusiasm, and ‘Blade’ is now in a difficult spot with more and more fans calling for Wesley Snipes to return.

But there is one thing that can redeem the Blade movie, and it’s the unlikely team-up with Hulk. According to recent rumors, Hulk is nowhere near to getting his standalone movie but it’s being set up through different projects.

The studio has been setting up the so-called “World War” storyline. This storyline has been established through various projects, including ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home,’ ‘WandaVision,’ ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,’ ‘Black Widow,’ ‘Eternals,’ ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ ‘Ms. Marvel,’ ‘She-Hulk: Attorney At Law,’ ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ and ‘Secret Invasion.’ There’s no reason why ‘Blade’ couldn’t be added to the mix.

This storyline, which has been brewing in the background, revolves around the world’s apprehension over the increasing number of superheroes since the events of ‘Endgame.’ With no active Avengers, nations are racing to develop their own superhuman soldiers or teams for defense against various threats.

So, what if we also add supernatural threats to the mix as well? Blade’s world often explores darker, more mature themes related to the supernatural and the consequences of immortality. Pairing him with Hulk could explore themes of identity, power, and the consequences of unbridled strength in a unique way, it could also see the return of a more savage Hulk, something that fans are also criticizing as Professor Hulk is seemingly too soft of a version in the MCU.
