When ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ came out in 2018, it was a huge hit – and rightfully so. The story of Miles Morales is unique and even more profoundly explored in 2023’s ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.’ However, Miles isn’t the only fan-favorite character within the story.

Another awesome character is Peter B. Parker, a version of Spidey coming from Earth-616B, based on the original Marvel Comics Peter Parker. He served as a guide and tutor for Miles to embrace being Spider-Man while also being sort of a comic relief at the same time.

There are numerous awesome, deep, or funny quotes that he delivers (well, the voice actor Jake Johnson does), but we’re here to bring you the ten best Peter B. Parker quotes from both the Spider-Verse movies, eagerly awaiting the third, Beyond the Spider-Verse, to drop next year. Enjoy!

Best Peter B. Parker quotes from ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ (2018)

“Everyone knows that the best way to learn is under intense, life-threatening pressure!”

This quote somewhat perfectly sums up who Peter Benjamin Parker is. He delivers this quote to Miles Morales while trying to teach him how to be Spider-Man and master his newfound abilities. It’s a hilarious quote but somewhat true, as the lessons you learn while your life is on the line will certainly stick with you forever.

“And, it’s a ‘No’ on the cape.”

One of the most common superhero tropes, or symbols, is that awesome superhero cape. Superman had one, Captain Marvel had one, Batman had one – it’s just cool, right? Well, not if your main ability is agility, balance, and wall-crawling. A cape would kind of get in the way, am I right?

Every Spider person in the film had their own thing, but none of them were too keen on capes, and Peter B. Parker had quite a simple but effective way of acknowledging that.

How Did Peter Parker Get His Powers? (Movies vs. Comics)

“That’s all it is, Miles. A leap of faith.”

Imagine being a regular, scrawny, nerdy kid trying to make it to college. Imagine becoming an insanely powerful superhero a few days later, tempted to leap off buildings and fly through the city streets while hanging from artificial webbings. Pretty intense and scary, right?

Luckily, Morales had Peter B. Parker, who understood what he was going through and explained what it means to become Spider-Man in the most simple way. You’ll always be scared. There’s no particular moment when you’ll suddenly become ‘ready’ to be Spider-Man. It’s a leap of faith to do so, just like it is to swing between buildings, embracing anything that is to come.

“Disinfect the mask. You’re gonna wanna use baby powder in the suit, heavy on the joints. You don’t want any chafing, right?”

This one was actually THE most hilarious quote from Peter B. Parker from both movies. When Miles asks for any Spider-Man advice, Peter delivers this particular quote and says, ‘That’s it, nothing else.’

I mean, it is some useful advice. I always wondered how insanely disgusting that mask has to be, being stuck to Spidey’s face like that for hours. And the baby powder advice? Pure gold. Chafes and skin burns are the worse.

“I was in New York, but the things were different. Also, I was dead and blonde. I was kind of perfect. It was like looking in a mirror.”

Throughout Into the Spider-Verse, we slowly learn about the Multiverse and how it works. This was Peter B. Parker trying to explain what he saw when stumbling into another universe. Blonde and kind of perfect – just like looking in a mirror? I guess Peter has had a pretty high opinion of himself.

I loved the comical quote and the simple, easy way to introduce us to the Multiverse concept.

Do Peter Parker and Mary Jane Get Married in ‘Spider-Man 3’?

“You see, I saved the city, fell in love, I got married, saved the city some more, maybe too much, my marriage got testy, made some dicey money choices – don’t invest in a Spider-themed restaurant. Then like fifteen years passed, blah, blah, blah, super boring, I broke my back, a drone flew into my face, I buried Aunt May, my wife and I split up. But I handled it like a champion. ‘Cause you know what? No matter how many times I get hit, I always get back up.”

Essentially every new Spidey in the Spider-Verse movies gets an introduction. Usually, it begins with ‘I’m [enter name], and I was bitten by a radioactive spider. I’m pretty sure you know the rest.’

So did Miles Morales say in the next film, ‘Across the Spider-Verse,’ but hearing this story from Peter B. Parker in the first film was absolutely hilarious. However, it was true – no matter how many times Spider-Man gets hit and knocked down, he always gets back up. That’s what makes Spider-Man such a spectacular character we all adore.

Best Peter B. Parker quotes from ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ (2023)

“Bad things are gonna happen; it makes us who we are. But good things are gonna happen too. Like you happened… and she happened.”

This particular quote from Peter B. Parker came during the ‘Spider-Chase’ sequence when he located Miles, who was trying to run away from other Spideys. Morales runs because he is being told that his father ‘must’ die, as it is a canon event that every Spider-Man across the multiverse has to go through.

Miles scratches that and decides to ‘do his own thing.’ This little piece of advice from Peter B. Parker was perfect for the scene because he is right. Bad things will always happen; it’s just how the world works. But good things happen, too, and it’s on us to make the good outweigh the bad.

That’s actually exactly what Miles is trying to do. Okay, bad things may happen, but it doesn’t mean we ought to stand aside and watch it unfold. Like, Miles was never supposed to be Spider-Man, but his becoming Spidey turned out to be the thing that saved the Multiverse.

As for the ‘she’ in the quote, Peter was referring to his baby daughter, making the quote all the more heartwarming.

“Go easy on the kid, he had a terrible teacher.”

Peter B. Parker is a kind, loving dude who is kind of quirky and off-beat. This quote was delivered in a conversation with Miguel O’Hara, who was quite hard on Miles and his actions, even though Morales had the best intentions in mind.

That’s when Parker delivers the quote, which is hilarious, as he himself was Miles’ teacher.

“You’re the only Spider-Man who’s not funny, we’re supposed to be funny.”

Peter B. Parker is sometimes a wise mentor, but sometimes, he serves as an epic comic relief in the film. He delivered this quote to Miguel O’Hara, who was the only Spider-Man who always felt dark, somber, and serious. This was probably my favorite Peter B. Parker moment in the entire film.

“If it weren’t for Uncle Ben, most of us wouldn’t be here. All the good things we did wouldn’t be done.”

Again, this particular quote came when Miles Morales learned about the ‘canon event’ for every Spider-Man in the Multiverse – the death of somebody very close. For most, it was Uncle Ben; for Miles, it would be his dad.

And Peter was actually right. Most Spideys wouldn’t have become the hero they became had they not gone through the suffering of losing someone so close. That being said, I don’t think it means that Miles should sit back and do nothing, knowing his father is heading toward his demise soon.
