A Little History

Originally called the Junior Justice League, the Teen Titans have been a thorn in the side of villainy for decades. Initially comprised of Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad, this team has undergone a carousel of change since its inception.

A product of its time, their first appearance sees the small town of Hatter Corner fed up with the out of control teenage population. While the teenagers wished that the adults would remember what it’s like to be young, the adults wanted the teenagers to take on less pay and do more chores.

To aid their teenage cause, the son of the Mayor invited the three sidekicks mentioned to support their cause. Unfortunately, before the trio even arrived, the villain Mr. Twister placed the town under siege.

With the help of magic, he took the towns teenagers hostage. In exchange for the safety and return of the children, he, of course, made his demands. Unbeknownst to him, Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad were on their way. Upon arrival, they immediately noticed that he was using the children to build a giant stone tribute to Tornadoes.

Robin quickly caused a distraction that allowed Aqualad to utilize whales to bring the children safe passage home. Upset with how things turned out, Mr. Twister returned to the town and unleashed a fury of rain and wind to destroy it. Once again, the trio was able to beat the villain.

The story concludes showing that this simple chain of events caused the adults to issue the teenagers the respect they deserved.
