‘Ahsoka’: First Two Episodes’ Runtimes Possibly Revealed!

One of the things that we know about the upcoming ‘Ahsoka’ series is that it will allow us to get to know more about what’s next for Ahsoka Tano’s journey and how the era of the New Republic is going to give way to the rise of the First Order. In that regard, the series will allow us to enjoy a two-part premiere on August 23, which means that the first two episodes will be released simultaneously.
While we don’t know much about the overall storyline of ‘Ahsoka’ and what will happen in the first two episodes, we did get leaks regarding how long the first two episodes will be. While it isn’t odd for us to see different shows with at least 40 minutes per episode, there’s good reason to believe that the first two episodes of ‘Ahsoka’ will be longer than most people anticipated.
According to leaks from the press screeners, the upcoming ‘Ahsoka’ series will have a two-part episode premiere that’s around 1 hour, 36 minutes, and 36 seconds long. And that means that the two-part release will have the length of an entire feature-length film.
We don’t know how long each of the first two episodes will be because there hasn’t been an update regarding that. In that regard, it is safe to say that there’s a good chance that each of the first two episodes will be around 48 minutes long.
But there’s a good possibility that the runtime for each episode won’t be the same, especially when you consider that this has always been a trend in the streaming generation. If that’s the case, either of the first two episodes should be a bit longer than the other.
‘Ahsoka’ has eight episodes
Another thing that we know about the upcoming ‘Ahsoka’ series is that it will have eight episodes in total. That means that six more episodes will be released after the first two episodes are released on the same day. The series will air from August 23 to October 4.
The fact that ‘Ahsoka’ is set to have eight episodes means that it is the same as all three seasons of ‘The Mandalorian,’ as each has eight episodes. And eight episodes will be more than enough to flesh out an entire story that will continue Ahsoka Tano’s journey and the stories of some of the ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ characters we met and loved in the animated series.
Episodes are likely longer than ‘The Mandalorian’
There’s another thing that might be interesting when it comes to the fact that the first two episodes of ‘Ahsoka’ are likely going to have 48 minutes each. Season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian’ had three episodes that were under 40 minutes, with the premiere episode being only 35 minutes long. Episodes 3 and 7 were the only episodes longer than the projected runtimes of the first two episodes of ‘Ahsoka.’
So, if this becomes a trend, that would mean that there’s a good chance that all of the episodes of ‘Ahsoka’ might be longer than all of the episodes of season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian,’ except for episodes 3 and 7. This should be a good trend because fans love having longer episodes that give more content.
