As it stands, Marvel Studios is only getting bigger because more movies and shows will be released in the future. That means the Marvel slate is quite full because the people over at Marvel Studios have many things planned for this studio’s future. And Marvel fans just can’t help but get excited about the upcoming movies and shows that will be important for future collaborations.

That said, Marvel Studios has been quite active when announcing new projects that already have release dates or are going to be in development. That’s why Phases Five and Six of the MCU are already quite full. Meanwhile, we know that there will be more movies beyond Phase Six. So, with that said, let’s look at all of the upcoming Marvel movies and shows that will be released soon.

1. ‘What If… ?’ Season 3 (December 22, 2024)

Season 3 of ‘What If…?’ is bound to be the show’s last. The season includes several episodes: one focused on Red Guardian, written by A.C. Bradley, and featuring Bucky Barnes, Bill Foster, and Ranger Morales, which was originally meant for the second season.

There’s also an anime-inspired episode called “Go-Avengers: Heroes of the Gamma War,” where the Avengers pilot mechs to fight a swarm of Mega-Hulk monsters. This episode includes Sam Wilson/Captain America, Black Widow, Red Guardian, Xu Shang-Chi, Monica Rambeau, Moon Knight, Shuri, and Melina Vostokoff.

Additionally, there’s an episode with Agatha Harkness that has a musical number and another episode with Shang-Chi in a Western setting.

2. ‘Ironheart’ (June 24, 2025)

‘Ironheart’ is a new Marvel TV miniseries coming to Disney+ in 2025, based on the Marvel Comics character Riri Williams. It is part of the MCU and will follow the events of the MCU films. Dominique Thorne will reprise her role as Riri Williams from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ with a supporting cast including Anthony Ramos and Lyric Ross. The series, which will have six episodes, is set to premiere on June 24, 2025, and marks the end of Phase Five in the MCU.

3. ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ (March 4, 2025)

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is an upcoming Marvel TV series on Disney+, set in the MCU, and the second show centered on Daredevil. Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock, with a supporting cast including Vincent D’Onofrio and Jon Bernthal.

The series was announced in July 2022, with filming starting in March 2023, but it was delayed due to the 2023 writers’ strike and a change in direction. It is scheduled to premiere on March 4, 2025, with nine episodes as part of MCU’s Phase Five.

4. ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ (February 14, 2025)

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is an upcoming MCU film centered on Sam Wilson as Captain America, played by Anthony Mackie. It is a continuation of ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ and the fourth film in the ‘Captain America’ series. Directed by Julius Onah, it also stars Danny Ramirez, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Harrison Ford. The film is set for release on February 14, 2025, as part of MCU’s Phase Five.

5. ‘Thunderbolts*’ (May 2, 2025)

‘Thunderbolts*’ is an upcoming MCU film about a team of antiheroes on government missions, featuring an ensemble cast including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and David Harbour. Directed by Jake Schreier, it was announced in June 2022, with production beginning in February 2024 after delays due to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes. The film’s script was rewritten by Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo. ‘Thunderbolts*’ is set to be released on May 2, 2025, as the final film of MCU’s Phase Five.

6. ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ (January 29, 2025)

The animated series ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ delves into Peter Parker’s origin story and early days as Spider-Man, with Norman Osborn as his mentor. Hudson Thames voices Parker, and the series, initially titled ‘Spider-Man: Freshman Year,’ is set to release its first season in 2025.

The show takes place in an alternate reality where Osborn mentors Parker instead of Tony Stark. Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, and the series also features Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus, Mac Gargan / Scorpion, Dr. Stephen Strange, and Nico Minoru from previous MCU media.

7. ‘Blade’ (TBA)

Our favorite vampire-hunting character will return to the big screen as Blade will see a return. Besides a quick cameo in the ‘Eternals’ movie, we know nothing about the upcoming ‘Blade’. The only thing that we know is that Mahershala Ali will be playing Blade.

Of course, the production was paused for a while when Ali was not satisfied with the script, and recently the movie was removed from Disney’s release slate after being delayed several times. The future of the movie is still under big question despite recent reassurances that it will eventually see the light of day.

8. ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ (July 25, 2025)

‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is an upcoming MCU film about the superhero team, featuring an ensemble cast led by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn. Directed by Matt Shakman, it is the second reboot of the ‘Fantastic Four’ series and follows the team as they protect a 1960s-inspired world from the space god Galactus.

The film’s development began after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019, with several changes in direction and casting taking place over the next few years. It is scheduled for release on July 25, 2025, as the first film of MCU’s Phase Six.

9. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ (May 1, 2026)

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ (formerly ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’) is an upcoming MCU film scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. The film will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with Stephen McFeely writing the script, and Robert Downey Jr. cast as Victor von Doom (Doctor Doom) to replace Jonathan Majors as the antagonist. The movie will feature the Fantastic Four, with Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach reprising their roles. Filming is set to begin in London in the second quarter of 2025.

10. ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ (May 7, 2027)

‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is an upcoming MCU film, announced in July 2022, with Michael Waldron writing the screenplay. Jonathan Majors was originally set to reprise his role as Kang but was replaced in December 2023. The Russo brothers will direct, with Stephen McFeely writing the script and Robert Downey Jr. cast as Doctor Doom. The film is scheduled for release on May 7, 2027, and will feature the main ‘Fantastic Four’ cast from ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

11. ‘Marvel Zombies’ (October 3, 2025)

‘Marvel Zombies’ is an upcoming animated miniseries on Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics series, set in an alternate timeline from the ‘What If…?’ episode “What If… Zombies?!” The series follows survivors battling former heroes and villains turned into zombies. It features returning voices from previous MCU media, including Awkwafina, David Harbour, and Florence Pugh, with Zeb Wells as head writer and Bryan Andrews directing. ‘Marvel Zombies’ is scheduled to premiere on October 3, 2025, as part of Phase Six of the MCU, with four episodes.

12. ‘Spider-Man 4’ (2026)

A fourth Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland has been in development since 2019, following the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). In November 2021, producer Amy Pascal confirmed that Sony and Marvel Studios planned at least three more Spider-Man films. Work on the story began in early 2023 but was put on hold due to the 2023 Writers Guild strike. Destin Daniel Cretton is set to direct, with filming scheduled to begin in mid-2025, and the film is expected to be released on July 24, 2026.

13. ‘Wonder Man’ (December 2025)

Wonder Man is an upcoming MCU miniseries on Disney+ based on the Marvel Comics character, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams/Wonder Man. The series, created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, is set to be part of Phase Six of the MCU and will feature Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse, and Ed Harris.

Filming began in April 2023 but was delayed due to the 2023 Writers Guild strike, resuming in January 2024 and concluding by April. Wonder Man is scheduled to premiere in December 2025, with eight to ten episodes, under the “Marvel Spotlight” banner.

14. ‘Nova’ (TBA)

Kevin Feige first mentioned the potential for a Nova film in May 2018, and again highlighted the character’s potential in June 2019. In January 2021, Feige confirmed that both a standalone film and supporting role for Nova were possible, and that the project would feature either Richard Rider or Sam Alexander. In March 2022, it was reported that a Nova project was in development, with Sabir Pirzada attached as writer. By July 2024, Feige confirmed the project would be a series focusing on Richard Rider, with a planned release in “three or four years.”

15. ‘Vision Quest’ (2026)

In October 2022, Vision Quest, a spin-off from WandaVision, was revealed to be in development, centered on Vision with Paul Bettany reprising his role. Jac Schaeffer was initially set as head writer, but by May 2024, Terry Matalas took over as showrunner due to Schaeffer’s focus on Agatha All Along. The series is part of a trilogy, including WandaVision and Agatha All Along, and filming is expected to begin in early 2025 in England. Vision Quest is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2026, with James Spader returning as Ultron.

16. ‘Armor Wars’ – (TBD)

In January 2011, Don Cheadle confirmed that a War Machine film was in development, with Joe Robert Cole hired to write the script. In December 2020, it was announced that Armor Wars, a TV series for Disney+ starring Cheadle as War Machine, was in development. The series was set to explore Tony Stark’s death and its impact on James Rhodes, with production originally slated for 2022. However, in September 2022, it was reported that Armor Wars would be redeveloped into a theatrical film, with Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart also expected to appear.

17. ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ (August 6, 2025)

Wakanda Technology

Eyes of Wakanda is an upcoming animated miniseries set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), focusing on the Hatut Zaraze, elite Wakandan warriors who retrieve vibranium artifacts throughout history.

Created by Todd Harris and produced by Marvel Studios Animation, it stars Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, and others. The series was officially announced in December 2023, with a connection to the larger MCU, spanning various points in the Sacred Timeline. Eyes of Wakanda is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 6, 2025, and will consist of four episodes as the first series of Phase Six.

18. ‘X-Men ’97’ Season 2 & 3 (TBA)

Following the incredible success of ‘X-Men ’97’ Season 1, we’ve soon learned that 2 additional seasons are in development. Work on the second season of the series began in July 2022, with writing for the finale starting by July 2023.

However, in March 2024, head writer DeMayo was fired after an investigation into sexual misconduct, including allegations of inappropriate behavior toward staff. Marvel removed his credits from the second season in June 2024 following breaches of his termination agreement, and DeMayo publicly denied the misconduct accusations. By July 2024, Matthew Chauncey was hired to replace DeMayo and oversee the rewrite of the second season and the development of the third season.

19. ‘Black Panther 3’ (TBA)

Absolutely nothing is known about this movie except that Denzel Washington will have a role in it as the actor has recently confirmed that Ryan Coogler is writing him a role.

20. Ryan Coogler’s Wakanda-Set Television Series (TBA)

Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther movies have been very successful, especially the first one, which broke many box office records. In that regard, Coogler was reported to be developing a series that will be revolving around Wakanda. And this was part of an overall deal between Coogler and Disney.

Things are unclear about the movie and how it will fall into place in the grander scheme of things in the MCU. But what we do know is that the series will be set in Wakanda and is likely going to follow familiar characters that we’ve already met in the past.

21. ‘Doctor Strange 3’ (TBA)

A third Doctor Strange film is in early development according to most recent reports, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Charlize Theron set to reprise their roles as Doctor Strange and Clea. The film will adapt the Time Runs Out comic storyline and serve as a precursor to Avengers: Doomsday. Sam Raimi is confirmed to return as director. The film is expected to explore key events leading up to Avengers: Doomsday.

Some recent rumors claimed that Denzel Washington will play Dormammu and that the movie will involve Black Priests.

22. ‘Kraven The Hunter’ – (December 13, 2024) Sony’s Spider-Man Universe

Kraven the Hunter is an upcoming superhero film starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the title character, exploring Kraven’s complex relationship with his father and his path to becoming the greatest hunter. Directed by J.C. Chandor, the film is part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) and features a supporting cast including Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, and Russell Crowe. The film has been in development since 2017, with filming taking place in London, Iceland, and Glasgow between March and June 2023. Kraven the Hunter is scheduled for release on December 13, 2024.

23. ‘Spider-Noir’ (TBA)

Spider-Noir is an upcoming television series developed by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot for MGM+, based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man Noir. The series, part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, follows an aging private investigator and superhero in 1930s New York City. Nicolas Cage stars as Spider-Man Noir, reprising his role from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), with a supporting cast including Lamorne Morris and Brendan Gleeson. Filming began in August 2024, with the series set to debut on MGM+ and consist of eight episodes.

24. ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ (TBD)

Following the release of the extremely successful ‘Across the Spider-Verse’, we know await the finale installment in the Miles Morales-centered franchise. The movie was in active development. We don’t have a release date, however, at this time.
