The world of Star Wars is full of powerful characters that have their own powers and abilities. But the thing about Star Wars is that the Jedi Order tends to have some of the strongest characters in the entire lore because they wield the Force, the most powerful cosmic energy in the entire galaxy. And that’s why those who can wield the Force hold the most power in the Star Wars lore.

Throughout the long history of Star Wars, we’ve seen many Jedi who showcased their power and strength as fighters. But what made Jedi even more powerful was their wisdom, as being wise allowed them to defeat supposedly stronger opponents in terms of their combat prowess. So, with that said, let’s look at the most powerful Jedi we’ve ever seen in the Star Wars lore.

25. Ezra Bridger

As one of the main protagonists of ‘Star Wars: Rebels,’ Ezra Bridger came a long way from being a brash and somewhat reckless young Padawan to a true Jedi in all but name. He was never officially knighted as a Jedi, but Ezra Bridger showed the same courage, wisdom, and desire to protect people that the Jedi have.

Ezra didn’t particularly stand out in terms of his lightsaber combat skills or his Force powers, but he was incredibly resourceful. The most important aspect about him was his ability to communicate with animals, which allowed him to defeat the Empire on Lothal and take Grand Admiral Thrawn out of the equation.

24. Jocasta Nu

Jocasta Nu was already quite old when we first met her in ‘Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.’ In that regard, not a lot of people would consider her strong. But the truth is that she was a Jedi Master who once served on the High Council before she stepped down and became the keeper of the Jedi Archives.

Out of all of the Jedi, Jocasta’s knowledge was the greatest, as even Palpatine feared that she could use her knowledge against the Sith in the future. She could back Darth Vader into a corner using her knowledge and ingenuity. But Vader eventually defeated and killed her, which was what Jocasta wanted to happen because she didn’t want Vader to use her knowledge against the Jedi.

23. Vernestra Rwoh

Not many people are familiar with Vernestra Rwoh because she only appeared in the High Republic-era publications of Star Wars. Nevertheless, she was portrayed as incredibly strong in the Force as a born prodigy who became one of the youngest Jedi Masters in history.

She was just 15 years old when she was knighted, meaning she had talents that not many Jedi had. Vernestra Rwoh also got permission from the Jedi Council to use a lightwhip, a dangerous type of lightsaber. The fact that she could use a lightwhip masterfully proves how skilled she was as a Jedi.

22. Cal Kestis

Cal Kestis is the star of the ‘Star Wars Jedi’ video game series. He was a Padawan who survived Order 66 before he was knighted during the events of the video games five years after he survived the fall of the Jedi Order.

Throughout the games, Cal improved as a Jedi by showcasing unique abilities that tend to be unconventional among the Jedi. While not necessarily the strongest Force user or the most skilled lightsaber duelist, he proved himself capable of defeating fallen Jedi Masters, including Taron Malicos and Dagan Gera.

21. Kanan Jarrus

While Kanan Jarrus survived Order 66 as a Padawan, he spent the next 15 years hiding in plain sight as a Rebel who worked together with the crew of the Ghost. He eventually became Ezra Bridger’s master as they both grew together. Kanan was eventually knighted by the Force vision of the Grand Inquisitor, who used to be a Jedi Temple Guard.

Kanan wasn’t particularly strong in many aspects as he struggled to hold his own against Darth Vader. But he was a true Jedi in many aspects because he was willing to sacrifice his own life for the sake of his friends. And he showed great power in his final moment when he used the Force to prevent an explosion from killing the Ghost crew members.

20. Depa Billaba

Depa Billaba was Kanan Jarrus’ master during the days of the Clone Wars. She was a member of the Jedi High Council, meaning she was one of the strongest and wisest members of the Jedi Order before its fall.

One of the things that made Depa strong was the fact that she was a wise and disciplined Jedi Master who mastered the defensive form called Form III: Soresu. However, as Mace Windu’s former Padawan, she also had training with the complicated Form VII: Vaapad combat form.

19. Luminara Unduli

Luminara Unduli is another Jedi Master active during the Clone Wars. She was the master of Barriss Offee during the earlier part of the Clone Wars and was one of the leading members of the Jedi High Council.

What made Luminara so strong was her wisdom and discipline. She was always a calm Jedi who displayed incredible self-control despite facing adversity. And she was strong enough to hold her own against Asajj Ventress, who was strong enough to take on Jedi Masters on her own.

18. Ki-Adi-Mundi

Ki Adi Mundi

Ki-Adi-Mundi was a Jedi Master who served as one of the leading members of the Jedi High Council during the Clone Wars. He was well known for his leadership skills and wisdom. It is also known that he was arguably the most logical out of the members of the High Council due to having two brains.

As a Jedi Master, Mundi was so skilled that he was one of the few Jedi who could match Count Dooku’s mastery of the Form II: Makashi combat style. He was also known for having some of the fastest reflexes in the galaxy.

17. Porter Engle

Porter Engle is another Jedi from the High Republic era of Star Wars, and he was known for being one of the greatest legends of that Star Wars timeline. He was so strong that he was called the Blade of Bardotta due to his prowess as a warrior.

However, Porter’s fate in the Force weakened during the latter part of his life. He decided to step out of the spotlight as a legendary combatant and served as a cook for the Jedi Temples. Nevertheless, he was still willing enough to return to the frontlines when his services were needed.

16. Avar Kriss

Avar Kriss was arguably the greatest Jedi during the High Republic era and was one of the most unique Jedi because she saw the Force differently. For her, the Force was a song that could also sense the presence of another Jedi as part of the entire song.

As such, she could see how the powers of the other Jedi fit into one song. This allowed her to harmonize and unite the different powers and capabilities of the Jedi and use their powers to achieve great feats. In one instance, she used the powers of all of the Jedi across the galaxy to harmonize them all together and move massive space debris away. This means she can act as a medium that can blend the Jedi’s abilities to strengthen them.

15. Qui-Gon Jinn

Qui-Gon Jinn was sort of a renegade Jedi during his time because he loved to disobey the will of the Jedi Council and would rather do his own thing throughout the entire galaxy. As a Jedi Master, he was wise, patient, and strong. And he passed everything he knew to his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

During his time, he believed in a cosmic entity known as the Living Force, one of the many different embodiments of the Force. Through his belief in the Living Force, he discovered a way for his spirit to persist after death. He passed this knowledge on to Yoda and Obi-Wan. Though he wasn’t the strongest in terms of his combat prowess, his wisdom and knowledge allowed him to become strong.

14. Eeth Koth

Eeth Koth was a Jedi Master who lived during the time of the Clone Wars and even during the earlier part of the reign of the Empire. He served as one of the members of the Jedi High Council and was known for his ability as a combatant, as he was one of the few Jedi Masters who could match General Grievous in a fight.

After surviving Order 66, Koth went into hiding and even started a family. The problem was that Darth Vader found him and was about to kill him. Koth put up a good fight against the Sith Lord, only for him to lose when his family was used against him. Putting up a good fight against Vader proved his power as a Jedi.

13. Shaak Ti

Shaak Ti was one of the Jedi Generals who served as some of the highest-ranking leaders for the Republic during the events of the Clone Wars. She was also a leading Jedi High Council member and one of the most well-respected Jedi Masters during her time.

As proof of her talents, Shaak Ti was the one in charge of overseeing the training of the clones on Kamino. She understood whether or not certain clones were ready for combat. Shaak Ti was also one of the few Jedi Masters who sensed the impending doom of the Jedi Order. But before she could communicate her discovery to the other Jedi Masters around the galaxy, Anakin stabbed her from behind.

12. Yaddle

Throughout the Star Wars lore, Yaddle was one of only three known members of her race, as the other two are Yoda and Grogu. She belongs to a race seemingly naturally gifted to be stronger in the Force than all other beings in the galaxy. As such, her talents in the Force were clear as she became a Jedi Master and a member of the Jedi High Council.

Yaddle was the first to uncover Darth Sidious’s existence and Count Dooku’s betrayal. She fought well against Dooku but was eventually defeated by her fellow Jedi Master. The fact that she nearly defeated Dooku proves her strength as a Jedi who lived for centuries.

11. Plo Koon

Aside from Yoda, Mace Windu, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon was arguably the most prominent member of the Jedi High Council, as he had both wisdom and strength. The other Jedi turned to him for counsel and wisdom as they all valued his words. In that regard, there’s no doubt that he was one of the greatest Jedi during the Clone Wars.

Plo Koon was also the only Jedi who could match Anakin Skywalker’s piloting skills. However, he ended up dying in the Clone Wars when his starfighter was shot from behind by the clones during Order 66. Had he been on the ground then, he would have put up a better fight and may have even survived the attack of the clones.

10. Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano is one of the most popular Jedi ever, even though she was never formally a Jedi Knight. She started out as Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan learner before she left the Jedi Order after losing her faith in the Jedi High Council. Throughout her history as a character, her improvements were evident.

Initially, she did not have the skills and power to fight Asajj Ventress on par but became strong enough to give Darth Maul a tough fight. During the events of ‘Rebels,’ she was even strong enough to overpower two Inquisitors simultaneously. And she was one of the few Force wielders that could actually give Darth Vader a tough fight.

9. Cere Junda

Not many people are familiar with Cere Junda because her only appearances in canon were in the ‘Star Wars Jedi’ video games. But she was a Jedi Master who survived Order 66 and became Cal Kestis’ mentor during the reign of the Empire.

Cere may have lost her connection to the Force at one point in her life, but she became stronger after re-establishing her connection to the Force. Her strength was evident when she could actually overpower Darth Vader in their duel and was one attack away from killing him. Vader won that fight using a last-second strike that found its mark before Junda could kill him.

8. Ben Solo

Ben Solo was the son of Leia Organa and Han Solo and was known for being the most talented out of all of Luke Skywalker’s students in his Jedi Order. And that goes without saying because he is actually the grandson of the Chosen One, Anakin Skywalker.

Having the blood of the Chosen One coursing through his veins made him one of the most talented Force wielders of his time, and he proved to be the strongest out of all of Luke’s students when he killed all of the Jedi at that time after falling to the dark side. As Kylo Ren, he was also strong enough to duel with Luke on par even though he really wasn’t as strong as his master.

7. Rey Skywalker

Rey’s origins were mysterious, but we eventually learned that she was the daughter of one of Emperor Palpatine’s clones. In that regard, she had Palpatine blood running through her veins, making her naturally strong in the Force.

It was the fact that she was so strong in the Force that she was able to become one of the strongest Force wielders of her time in just a year of training as a Jedi. She eventually used the power of all of the Jedi to defeat Emperor Palpatine once and for all, which is why she is ranked high on this list.

6. Obi-Wan Kenobi

If there was a Jedi that perfectly embodied what a Jedi is supposed to be, it’s Obi-Wan Kenobi. He was the master who taught Anakin Skywalker everything he knew about the Force, and he eventually became one of the most prominent Jedi Masters of his time, as the Jedi Council often sent him on the most dangerous missions during the Clone Wars.

The reason why he is the perfect embodiment of a Jedi is the fact that, despite all of the tragedies that he experienced in his life, he never once gave into the dark side of the Force. In fact, he only became stronger through his harmony with the Force as he realized that protecting Luke and Leia was the most important mission of his life. And he was also the greatest defensive specialist in the Jedi Order because few could penetrate his Form III: Soresu combat form.

5. Count Dooku

Before Count Dooku fell to the dark side of the Force, he was once a great Jedi Master who had his own somewhat renegade beliefs that prevented him from becoming a member of the Jedi Council. He was Qui-Gon Jinn’s master and was incredibly wise and strong. And he was the one who taught Qui-Gon everything that he knew.

Dooku was so skilled in the art of using Form II: Makashi that it was believed that only a few Jedi could match his skills with the lightsaber. He had an elegant combat form that relied on quick and precise attacks that made him look like he was in a ballet dance. And on top of that, his power in the Force was so strong that he could match the prowess of the likes of Yoda and Mace Windu.

4. Mace Windu

Mace Windu was often considered the champion of the Jedi Order during his time as he was right up there with Yoda as the most prominent Jedi during the Clone Wars. He was arguably the strongest duelist in the Jedi Order because he mastered Form VII without ever falling to the dark side. Through this, he created Vaapad, which was a safer variant of Form VII. On top of that, he was also gifted in the Force because he could sense shatterpoints.

Using his powers and skills as a Jedi, Windu could defeat Palpatine in a one-on-one fight. In fact, he is the only one who has ever had the distinction of defeating Palpatine in a lightsaber duel. And he would have killed him and saved the galaxy if it weren’t for Anakin’s interference.

3. Anakin Skywalker

As the Chosen One that was supposed to bring balance to the Force, Anakin Skywalker had the highest potential in the Force in the history of the galaxy and was supposed to be the greatest Jedi of all time. But he fell to the dark side and lost all of his limbs in his fight with Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Nevertheless, before he fell to the dark side, Anakin was right up there with the best Jedi in the galaxy as he had the combat prowess and the Force powers to match the most prominent members of the Jedi Order. Defeating Count Dooku, who could give all of the Jedi Masters a run for their money, was arguably his greatest feat.

2. Yoda

If there was a Jedi that was the perfect combination of wisdom, experience, Force abilities, and lightsaber skills, it was Yoda. He was the leader of the Jedi Order before its fall. Of course, he lived for 900 years and was able to hone his skills and talents for centuries until he became the greatest Jedi during the time of the Clone Wars.

Yoda may have been old during the Clone Wars, but he was strong enough to force Count Dooku to flee. On top of that, he fought Emperor Palpatine on par. He was so strong and wise that all of the Jedi valued his counsel and wisdom. And it was due to his wisdom that he became the strongest Jedi of his time.

1. Luke Skywalker

As the son of the Chosen One, Luke Skywalker was naturally gifted in the Force and had a potential just a tad lower than his father. He quickly learned how to fight as a Jedi and use the Force effectively after just a few years of training. But those few years were all that he needed to defeat Darth Vader.

After defeating Vader, Luke only became stronger in the Force, especially when training the next generation of Jedi. His power allowed him to actually create a Force projection that was strong enough to give Kylo Ren a run for his money. Not many people like how he was portrayed in the sequel trilogy, but it was clear that Luke was the wisest and strongest Jedi of his time and is arguably the strongest Jedi of all time.
