What we have suspected for so long has come to pass. The WGA strike began last May, and there are still no signs of resolving it anytime soon. Once the SAG-AFTRA joined with their own strike in July, almost the entire Hollywood stopped, and it remained frozen ever since. For how long this will last is anyone’s guess, and the studios can only keep delaying their movies and TV shows until they finally make a fair deal with both guilds.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe started its Multiverse Saga in 2021 with the ‘WandaVision’ series. although the initial plan was to start it with ‘Black Widow.’ Television and streaming content blossomed during the time pandemic, and almost the entire world was in lockdown. However, when things returned to normal, it became clear that we were getting too much MCU content, and discussions about superhero fatigue are still ever-present among MCU fans. Still, we know there’s a lot of upcoming content to look forward to, but just like during the pandemic time, we’ll wait for it longer than we previously anticipated.

Several MCU series have been delayed! The Agatha spin-off series is retitled for the second time already!

In The Hollywood Reporter‘s latest report, we found out that the ‘Agatha’ spin-off series starring Kathryn Hahn has been retitled, and now it’s called ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.’ This is the second time the series was retitled. It was initially announced as ‘Agatha: House of Harkness’ before it was retitled to ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos,’ and now another title has been chosen.

At last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios uncovered their plan for Phase 5, but the current schedule looks nothing like the one they presented back then. The movie schedule has already been reshuffled, and we suspect another round of delays could happen anytime soon. As for the series we will watch on Disney+ eventually, let’s take a look at the new schedule.

  • ‘Loki’ Season 2 — October 6, 2023
  • ‘What If…?’ Season 2 — around Christmas 2023
  • ‘Echo’ — January 2024
  • ‘X-Men ’97’ — Early 2024
  • ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ — Fall 2024
  • ‘Ironheart’ — delayed indefinitely
  • ‘Wonder Man’ — delayed indefinitely
  • ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ — delayed indefinitely

Marvel Studios Releases Official Trailer for the MCU Timeline Book

As we can see, only the second season of ‘Loki,’ which is the next MCU project scheduled to be released before ‘The Marvels’ in November, stayed intact on the schedule. ‘Echo,’ which was previously set to be released “all episodes at once” on November 29, has been pushed to January 2024 (for now at least, in the best-case scenario). ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries,’ which already wrapped filming before the strikes, has also been delayed, which could indicate that the studio plans some reshooting for the series after the strikes.

‘Ironheart’ was initially announced to premiere in late 2023 after the titular character debuted in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ last year, but the series was already pushed to 2024 when the studio decided to make more room between each series, which is why Secret Invasion premiered in June this year, although it was announced for “early 2023”, and ‘Loki’ Season 2 is coming in October, although it was announced for “summer 2023.”

Both ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ and ‘Wonder Man’ were in the middle of production when the strikes began, so their delay isn’t surprising at all, although ‘Wonder Man’ didn’t have an announced release window like ‘Born Again,’ which was initially announced for “early 2024.” We do know that Marvel is also developing the ‘Vision Quest’ series, but that series wasn’t mentioned in THR’s report.

By the end of this year, we’ll watch ‘Loki’ Season 2, ‘The Marvels’ and the second season of What If…?, which is now scheduled to arrive around Christmas time this year. There’s a lot of content scheduled to arrive next year as well, but how many times can that schedule change by then?
