Vision was born in the MCU partly because of Tony Stark’s curiosity and partly due to necessity. Either way, his presence enforced the Avenger’s ranks but also compromised them on occasion. Vision appeared in three movies and in one show in the MCU, and we’ll see more of him in the future.

MCU movies and TV show featuring Vision in release date order

If you wish to start watching movies featuring Vision as soon as possible and are interested in what movies and shows he appeared in, we’ve got you covered. Here is the best order ready for you to start watching immediately:

  2. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
  3. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
  4. WandaVision (2021)

In the rest of the article, we’ll explain in detail whether or not Vision’s appearances are connected and in what order it is best to watch them. You can also find brief summaries for each movie and the show.

Are Vision’s MCU appearances connected? Do you need to watch them in a specific order?

All the movies (and the ‘WandaVision’ show) where Vision appears are connected. The movies and the show are a part of the MCU, where everything is connected in one way or another. ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ shows us Vision’s origin story, and everything that happens next in other movies just adds up to that. ‘WandaVision’ happens after Vision dies, but Wanda uses her magic to recreate him.

The best way to watch these movies is by their release date. That way, the movies will give you a detailed and chronological explanation of Vision’s journey in the MCU, how he came to be and why, what he was like, and how the Avengers accepted him. His romance with Wanda and the demise by Thanos’s hand are a big part of MCU also since those events caused Wanda to become one of the fierce villains.

So, you should first watch ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ and then ‘Wandavision’ TV show.

As we’ve already said, the release date order is same as the chronological order. In the rest of the article, you can find a brief summary of each MCU project Vision appeared in.

Vision’s MCU appearances in chronological order

1. ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ (2015)

When Ultron turned against humanity, he wanted to create a perfect body form for himself, used vibranium as a core material, and implemented a Mind Stone. The Avengers managed to prevent that and stole the synthezoid before Ultron transferred his consciousness into it. Tony Stark decided to transfer J.A.R.V.I.S. into that body, and Vision was born.

2. ‘Captain America: Civil War’ (2016)

When the Avengers had to decide where they stood regarding the Sokovia Accords, Vision sided with Tony Stark and the others who were for signing them. So, when the battle between two opposite sides occurred, Vision also fought and was responsible for accidentally shooting Rhodey in mid-air and crippling him.

3. ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018)

When Thanos’ plan became known, it was clear that he’d be after Vision also since Vision had the Mind Stone integrated into his forehead. The Avengers figured that Shuri could extract the Stone from Vision’s head using Wakandan technology. Ultimately, their plan did not work since Thanos overpowered his opponents, pulled the Mind Stone from Vision’s head, and killed him in the process.

4. ‘WandaVision’ (2021)

After Vision’s death, Wanda steals his remains and uses chaos magic to revive Vision, create their two kids, take the whole city hostage, and turn it into a sitcom-like reality. She planned to live there with her family carefree, but she was not the only witch in town. Vision never felt like himself and had no memory of his life outside Westview.
