The ‘Ahsoka’ storyline is unique in that there are more than a few main villains. While most Star Wars storylines focus on one or two villains, ‘Ahsoka’ has more. Of course, these villains have their own goals as well, and the thing is that some of them don’t always act like villains because they believe what they are doing is justified.

Then again, these villains are still antagonistic regarding Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, and their other allies. That’s because they are looking to start another war that could very well break the entire galaxy just a few years after the Rebels defeated the Empire. So, with that said, let’s look at all of the main villains of ‘Ahsoka’ to understand more about them.

1. Morgan Elsbeth

The first main villain of ‘Ahsoka’ is Morgan Elsbeth, who isn’t a stranger to Star Wars fans. She first appeared in ‘The Mandalorian’ season 2 as the governor of a settlement on Corvus but was clearly in leagues with the Imperial remnants. Din Djarin and Ahsoka Tano worked together to defeat her as the New Republic ousted Elsbeth from power and arrested her after her defeat. And Ahsoka was looking for Thrawn when she asked Elsbeth the Grand Admiral’s location.

In the opening crawl of ‘Ahsoka,’ we learn that Ahsoka learned from interrogating Elsbeth that there’s a starmap that could lead her to the location of the lost Grand Admiral. Morgan, however, broke out of the New Republic’s custody thanks to the efforts of the two other villains on this list. And Elsbeth, who revealed herself to be a survivor of the Nightsisters of Dathomir, revealed that her only goal was to get to Grand Admiral Thrawn, who was lost in an entirely different galaxy.

2. Baylan Skoll

Baylan Skoll was one of the two people who broke Morgan Elsbeth out of the New Republic’s custody as he used his Force powers to defeat all the officers and soldiers stationed in a cruiser. He was trained in the ways of the Force, as Huyang recognized his lightsaber as constructed many years ago when the Jedi Order was still operating. In that regard, he was once a Jedi Knight before the fall of the Jedi Order.

Of course, he survived the events of Order 66 and the Imperial era before he returned to action once more, as there was no longer a Sith Order that feared the existence of other Force wielders and former Jedi in the galaxy. He eventually took on an apprentice of his own and trained her in the ways of the Force. While he may have done evil things, Baylan seems to have kept his Jedi honor and believes that the goal that he wants to attain is for the good of the entire galaxy.

3. Shin Hati

Shin Hati was the other Force wielder responsible for breaking Morgan Elsbeth out. She was working alongside Baylan Skoll as his apprentice, which means that she is strong in the Force and capable of wielding the Force in the same manner as a Jedi. She was trained in the ways of the Jedi by a Jedi-trained master, and that’s why she has exhibited great skill as a lightsaber duelist and a Force wielder.

Throughout the series, Shin has developed a rivalry with Sabine Wren, who we know is the apprentice of Ahsoka Tano. She was able to easily defeat Sabine during their first encounter. But in their second fight, Sabine was more prepared because she brushed up her lightsaber skills and donned her Mandalorian armor. Shin was disarmed by Sabine in their rematch but managed to escape to try to stop Ahsoka from taking the starmap from Baylan.

4. Marrok

Marrok was the mysterious Inquisitor who operated alongside Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati. Unlike the two fallen Jedi, Marrok was loyal to Morgan Elsbeth and didn’t seem to have any ulterior motives. We know Baylan and Shin are only trying to bring Thrawn back to achieve their goals. But Marrok was just a thrall that never questioned his orders and was simply doing what needed to be done.

While fans had a lot of theories regarding the identity of this masked Inquisitor, episode 4 of ‘Ahsoka’ revealed that Marrok was actually just a reanimated corpse that was given life once more thanks to the Nightsister Magick that Morgan Elsbeth possessed. He “died” after Ahsoka dealt a fatal blow that broke the reanimation spell that kept him alive the entire time.

5. Grand Admiral Thrawn

Of course, we have Grand Admiral Thrawn, who would always be the big bad guy of the ‘Ahsoka’ series because he was the man Elsbeth and her allies were trying to rescue from the depths of another galaxy. On top of that, Ahsoka and her allies know what kind of a threat Thrawn poses to the galaxy and the New Republic because he is the only one capable of leading the Imperial remnants under one banner.

As such, Ahsoka and her allies are looking to prevent Morgan and her own allies from trying to bring Thrawn back to the galaxy. Thrawn has been missing for around ten years already, and it seems like his return is well overdue because the Imperial remnants are looking for a true leader who could guide them to the next phase of Emperor Palpatine’s contingency plan.

Bonus: The New Republic Senate

While not necessarily villains, the New Republic Senate has acted in a way that’s quite antagonistic to Ahsoka, Sabine, Hera, and the other New Republic Defense Fleet members because the senators are more interested in politicking than in protecting the New Republic’s peace and safety. In fact, Senator Xiono doesn’t even believe that the Imperials are still a threat as he concludes that Thrawn is already dead.

In that regard, the New Republic Senate is set to become the author of its impending doom and destruction because the politicking and bureaucracy will eventually weaken the New Republic’s defenses and allow the First Order to rise. And we know that the New Republic was blown out of the galaxy by the First Order back in the events of the sequel trilogy.
