Will We See Zeb, Agent Kallus, and Kanan in ‘Ahsoka’?

A lot of people have been calling the ‘Ahsoka’ series the live-action version of ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ because it basically continues the story of some of the characters involved in the animated ‘Rebels’ series. While there’s a good reason to think that ‘Ahsoka’ is season 5 of ‘Rebels,’ the thing is that we haven’t seen the return of some of the Spectres and Rebels who were prominent during the events of ‘Rebels.’ We are talking about Zeb, Agent Kallus, and none other than Kanan Jarrus. So, will we see Zeb, Kallus, and Kanan in ‘Ahsoka’?
We are likely going to see Zeb Orrelios appearing in the ‘Ahsoka’ series because he already made his live-action debut in season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian.’ As for Agent Kallus, there has been no word about whether or not he will be returning. And for Kanan, he is already dead, but he may return in some form or another.
Zeb, Kallus, and Kanan were all fan favorites in their own right, especially because they were three of the most prominent male characters in ‘Rebels.’ Of course, we aren’t sure whether Dave Filoni plans to feature them in the future, especially now that we are at the halfway point of the series. Still, let’s look at the possibility of Zeb, Kallus, and Kanan returning to ‘Ahsoka.’
The case for Zeb and Kallus
One of the most prominent members of the Spectres was Garazeb Orrelios, the fourth person to join the crew and a very good friend to Kanan Jarrus. During the events of ‘Rebels,’ Zeb was the team’s muscle because he was the biggest and strongest member of the team. But he also played the team’s comic relief role due to how goofy he was.
Then again, Zeb also had a tragic past because the Empire destroyed his people, the Lasat, as he thought that he was the last Lasat in the entire galaxy. One of the Imperial officers who led the destruction of the Lasat was Agent Kallus, who worked for the ISB. Because of that, Zeb and Kallus developed a rivalry that culminated when they both got trapped on one of the moons of Geonosis.
It was during the time that they had to work together to survive on the moon that they got to know one another. Kallus, of course, started to realize that the Empire may have been wrong. He was always loyal to the Empire because he believed in the galaxy’s ideals of peace and order. But he soon realized that the Empire was simply tyrannical.
During the events of season 3 of ‘Rebels,’ Kallus started carrying the Fulcrum codename, which was the codename that Ahsoka used whenever she contacted the Spectres in secret. Zeb was shocked when the Spectres found out who Fulcrum was as he realized he must have recruited him when they were trapped on the moon together.
However, Grand Admiral Thrawn started to suspect a traitor in their midst, and he quickly concluded that it was Kallus despite the agent’s best efforts at diverting Thrawn’s attention away from him. But Thrawn still allowed Kallus to operate as a spy because he knew that he could be more useful this way. And it was by manipulating Kallus that Thrawn found Chopper Base and destroyed it.
After that, Kallus started working together with the entire Rebel Alliance as a true member of the cause. He and Zeb started to become closer to one another, especially after Kallus found out through Zeb that the Lasat were still alive. After the events of the Rebellion, Zeb, and Kallus traveled to the Lasat’s new planet so that Kallus would understand that he wasn’t responsible for the genocide of an entire race.
Since then, Zeb has started working with the New Republic Defense Fleet. We saw him in season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian’ when he and Captain Carson Teva were in a bar together. This is where it may be possible that Zeb would appear in ‘Ahsoka’ as we already saw Teva appearing in episode 4. But Zeb might not appear on the screen for a long time because it is expensive to bring him to life in a live-action series.
As for Agent Kallus, we aren’t sure about his fate. We don’t know what he did or where he has been since the end of the Rebellion. All we know is that there hasn’t been any news regarding whether or not he will appear in ‘Ahsoka.’
Kanan has already made an appearance… sort of
Meanwhile, when it comes to Kanan Jarrus, it is needless to say that he is already dead. That means he won’t appear in ‘Ahsoka’ as a person alive because he lost his life in season 4 of ‘Rebels.’ Still, dead Jedi often return to the Star Wars world, and we are not dismissing the possibility that Kanan may appear in a flashback or as a Force Ghost, especially because Anakin did appear to Ahsoka in the World Between Worlds.
But the thing that fans need to know is that episode 4 actually allowed us to see Kanan in a different form. In a scene that didn’t even last a second, a photo of Kanan could be seen on the dashboard of Hera Syndulla’s Ghost ship. While we couldn’t see the details of the photo up close, it does appear that Freddie Prinze Jr. put on the Kanan costume for this photo.
However, Freddie Prinze Jr. did admit that he won’t be returning to the ‘Ahsoka’ series. That means that Kanan Jarrus won’t be appearing as Freddie Prinze Jr. Still, there’s a good chance that Dave Filoni may have brought in a different person to play Kanan. Or maybe Prinze Jr. wasn’t totally honest about his involvement in ‘Ahsoka.’
Whatever the case may be, Kanan is the most unlikely to return because he is already dead, and there hasn’t been any news regarding Prinze Jr.’s or any other actor’s involvement in the series as the heroic Jedi Knight.
