Marvel Cinematic Universe has undergone many changes since the end of the Infinity Saga. The end of that chapter kickstarted the fourth phase of the universe, where we saw new faces and new threats to planet Earth. Phase Four kickstarted the Multiverse Saga, which is currently in Phase Five and will continue through the upcoming Phase Six.
Phase Four divided the MCU fandom, but that didn’t stop Marvel Studios from creating and releasing new Marvel content yearly. There have been 18 films and TV series included in Phase Four of Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in this article, we will list all MCU Phase Four content in suitable order.
MCU Phase Four movies and shows in release date order
MCU Phase Four kickstarted shortly after the ending of Phase Three, also known as the Infinity Saga, with the Disney+ series, ‘Wandavision.’ It officially ended with the Disney+ Special, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special,’ in 2022. Now, there have been 18 projects released between 2021 and 2022, which is a lot even for Marvel Studios.

Are MCU Phase Four movies connected? What’s the best order to watch them?
As we mentioned, Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe set the fundamentals for the Multiverse Saga, which eventually continued in the current Phase Five and the future Phase Six. Even though the release date order says otherwise, multiple projects happened at different timelines within the universe; hence, the best way to watch Phase Four is to follow the chronological order.
MCU Phase Four movies in chronological order
As we already mentioned, chronological order in the MCU is always interesting since it continues over all phases in the cinematic universe. After ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and the ultimate defeat of Thanos, the universe moved on, but new threats arose.
Kang the Conqueror, variants, timeline changes, and universe jumping became the main theme of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This next list is the shows and series in chronological order:

Let’s explain this order in more detail.
1. ‘Loki’ season one (2021) – TV series
In ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ during Time Heist in 2012, the remaining Avengers went back in time to acquire Infinity Stones. Then, imprisoned Loki used the interference to steal the Tesseract and go to another universe. This is where ‘Loki’ season one starts; hence, this is where Phase Four also starts.
2. ‘I Am Groot’ (2022) – Shorts series
This series follows Baby Groot after the post-credit scene of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ and before the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ movie.
3.‘Black Widow’ (2021) – film
We all know about the controversy regarding this film. Even though it was focused on Natasha Romanoff just after the happenings of ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ we finally go to the movie in Phase Four. Worth a watch.
4. ‘What If … ?’ season one (2021) – TV series
There isn’t any specific timeline for this show since it showcases ‘what if’ scenarios of most notable Marvel heroes and foes.
5. ‘Wandavision’ (2021) – TV series
Another post-Endgame project sees Wanda Maximoff dealing with her grief and kickstarting new storylines for Phase Four.
6. ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ (2021) – TV series
Series that focuses on the new Captain America after Steve Rogers, ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ is set between ‘Wandavision’ and ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ movie, which was part of Phase Three.
7. ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ (2021) – film
This movie is set after the happenings of ‘Endgame,’ it introduces new characters in the universe and sets up some characters for the future.
8. ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ (2022) – TV series
‘She-Hulk’ series is hard to set in the timeline, but most fans will agree that the summer of 2024 within the MCU is somewhere between ‘Shang-Chi’ and ‘Eternals’ movies.
9. ‘Eternals’ (2021) – film
This divisive movie is also hard to pin down, but it’s for sure after the ‘Shang-Chi’ movie, hence why it’s in this spot.
10. ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ (2022) – film
The fourth ‘Thor’ movie is also hard to set in the timeline, but since it is post-Endgame and covers God of Thunder’s life after that major event, it is set in 2023 or 2024.
11. ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021) – film
A movie that truly kickstarted the Multiverse Saga is the third ‘Spider-Man’ movie that is set during the Christmas of 2024 in New York.
12. ‘Hawkeye’ (2021) – TV series
Another great Christmas project is the TV series ‘Hawkeye’ which follows Clint Barton post-Endgame and a new addition to the universe, Kate Bishop. The third ‘Spider-Man’ movie and this series is set during the same period – a few days more or less.
13. ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ (2022) – film
The second ‘Doctor Strange’ movie follows Wanda Maximoff after the ‘Wandavision’ series and introduces America Chavez to the MCU. Moreover, this movie is set after the third ‘Spider-Man’ movie, which saw Doctor Strange and Peter Parker messing with the timeline.
14. ‘Moon Knight’ (2022) – TV series
‘Moon Knight’ introduces Steven Grant, also known as a vigilante Moon Knight, who discovers his purpose and beginnings. This series is set just after ‘Hawkeye’ and during ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’
15. ‘Ms. Marvel’ (2022) – TV series
Kamala Khan finally enters the MCU with her origin story as the Ms. Marvel, and the series is set in 2025.
16. ‘Werewolf by Night’ (2022) – special
This project arrived as a special on Disney+ platforms, and even though it isn’t officially set anywhere in the MCU timeline, it’s good to check it out around this time. It might have connections to some upcoming future projects within the MCU.
17. ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ (2022) – film
The second ‘Black Panther’ introduced us to the new handler of the notable mantle after the passing of the great Chadwick Boseman, and it is the closing movie of the whole Phase Four.
18. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special’ – special
This holiday special is certainly canon within the MCU, and it is set between ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ and the third installment of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ trilogy – at least that’s what the director himself, James Gunn, confirmed.
