One of the most expected MCU projects currently is ‘Deadpool 3,’ with Ryan Reynolds returning as Merc With the Mouth and Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine, long after his story has been officially concluded in Fox’s “X-Men” franchise

One of the concepts that explain Wolverine’s return is the fact that ‘Deadpool 3’ will dabble heavily into the Multiverse. This is to allow a smoother transition from Fox’s aforementioned franchise to the MCU, where ‘Deadpool 3’ is expected to take place continuity and timeline-wise.

Recently, Daniel Richtman unofficially commented on the plot of ‘Deadpool 3’ with claims that Deadpool and Wolverine will, at some point in the movie, be stuck in the dimension where they will be forced to fight former X-Men villains.

This makes sense in a way since Fox’s franchise will have to be addressed in some way, and what better way to do it than through revisiting various conflicts? ‘X-Men’ movies have seen the rise of some of the most popular cinematic supervillains, such as Mystique, Magneto, Sabretooth, and Apocalypse. So far, we can only guess which ones will be incorporated into the movie’s plot.

The movie was also rumored to include multiple variants of both Deadpool and Wolverine, one of the most notable being Kidpool, an alternate variant of Wade Wilson, who resides on Earth-10330 in the source material. The character was first introduced in the comics in 2010, and Wade Wilson from Marvel’s Prime Universe (Earth-616) eventually recruited him into the Deadpool Corps to save the Multiverse.

Regarding former X-Men villains, ‘Deadpool 3’ is neither the first nor the last movie that will try to monopolize on references and nostalgia. We’ve seen the same happen in ‘The Flash’ released several months ago, and the movie still bombed spectacularly, mostly due to the lack of direction and really bad publicity for keeping Ezra Miller in the titular role.

Still, the concept that ‘Deadpool 3’ promises to deliver sounds promising, and we can’t wait to see how it will turn out.

Who do you hope will return as a villain in ‘Deadpool 3’? Let us know in the comments below!
