‘Dead Boy Detectives’ is a new and upcoming supernatural detective comedy-drama TV series developed by Steve Yockey, adapted from the DC Comics characters created by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner. The series will be focusing on Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine who decided to refuse to enter the afterlife and focus on investigating crimes caused by supernatural means on Earth.
The show was first announced in 2021 when HBO ordered a pilot for the series, the show was meant to be a spinoff of ‘Doom Patrol.’ The series transferred rights from HBO Max to Netflix in February 2023. This move was reportedly influenced by conflicts with DC Studios’ co-CEOs’ vision for the DC Universe on HBO Max and the platform’s marketing constraints. Neil Gaiman later affirmed on April 20, 2023, that the series would exist within the same universe as his other hit show, ‘The Sandman.’
Now after a lot of waiting, the show has a set release date as it’s scheduled to arrive on the streaming service on April 25, 2024, which is a little over a month away, but still close enough to get us excited. You can also check out the new official photos of the show
