Marvel’s ‘Hit-Monkey’ Animated TV Show Gets a Release Date for Season 2

‘Hit-Monkey’ is an adult animated TV series on Hulu, based on the Marvel Comics character and it’s definitely lauded as one of the best Marvel projects to date. Created by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, the first season was produced by Marvel Television and the second by 20th Television Animation. The show featured Ally Maki, Olivia Munn, Fred Tatasciore, and Jason Sudeikis in lead roles, with additional cast members such as Nobi Nakanishi, George Takei, and Leslie Jones.
Originally announced in February 2019, it was part of a lineup of Marvel-based series planned to culminate in a crossover special titled ‘The Offenders.’ Oversight of the series transitioned from Marvel Television to Marvel Studios in December 2019.
The first season of the show started airing in November 2021 and as you can imagine quite a lot of time has passed since then. A while back we announced that season 2 is currently wrapping up development with an expected release date down the line, and today we deliver. Hulu has announced its spring & summer slate and it’s been confirmed that ‘Hit-Monkey’ season 2 will be released on July 15, 2024.
The second season will consist of 10 episodes and all of them will be bulk-released on July 15th.
‘Hit-Monkey’ follows the story of a Japanese macaque seeking revenge, mentored by the ghost of an American assassin. Together, they navigate Tokyo’s criminal underworld before journeying to New York City. The main cast includes Ally Maki as a dedicated cop, Olivia Munn as a determined individual, Nobi Nakanishi as a troubled but loyal partner, Fred Tatasciore as the titular Hit-Monkey, George Takei as a benevolent politician, Jason Sudeikis as the ghostly mentor and Leslie Jones in the unconfirmed role.
