James Gunn’s ‘Superman‘ is currently being filmed in Cleveland which was transformed into Metropolis for the purpose of the movie. Alongside some pretty interesting set leaks, we also got a good look at Superman’s costume, Lois Lane, Mr. Terrific, and other important details.

Several months ago during the suit reveal, reactions were mixed at best, with plenty of fans mocking the fact that the suit is baggy, rubbery, and among other things, Superman’s pose in which he is casually sitting while the obvious alien attack is happening.

Now seeing the costume on an actor in broad daylight did wonders to improve the perception of the suit, it looks much better (in my opinion) than the first presentation, but unfortunately, the photos generated quite the backlash again, calling Gunn’s production chea (again) and comparing the suit to CW production (again), although I really can’t understand why is CW’s suit used as an insult, Tyler Hoechlin has a decent suit in ‘Superman & Lois.’

Corenswet’s Superman costume is a blend of classic and modern influences. While fans might have expected a traditional look similar to Christopher Reeve’s Superman, the new suit incorporates contemporary elements from the New 52 design by Jim Lee, such as a high collar and intricate linework. Despite these modern touches, the costume also features traditional elements like Superman’s red trunks, yellow belt, and classic spitcurl, balancing a modern, armor-like appearance with nods to the iconic, folksy Superman of the past.

Gunn also expressed several months ago, that King Come art by Alex Ross will influence a lot of designs, including Superman’s suit. What do you think about the suit? Let us know in the comments below!
