Qimir Confesses That He Is Looking for the “Power of Two” and We Have a Good Idea of What That Is

Episode 6 of ‘The Acolyte’ is back to slow pacing, and building up mysteries. In last week’s episode we’ve seen that Osha was taken by Qimir and Mae left for Coruscant with Master Sol.

Well, in this week’s episode, Osha woke up and found herself face to face with a living breathing Sith Lord. She had the opportunity to strike him down but didn’t.

Qimir revealed to Osha that she could unlock more power by harnessing her anger and lust, and she quickly pointed out that that was the path to the Dark Side. Qimir also revealed that he used to be a Jedi, and hinted that his Master treated him cruelly. When Osha asked him what he was looking for, he said in quite a straightforward way that he wanted the Power of Two.

Now Episode 6 is not the first time that this is mentioned, if you can recall Episode 3, when we met the witches of Brendok, they were chanting the Power of One, The Power of Two, The Power of Many.

It sort of became a meme, but this is secondary at this point. We don’t know what the Power of Two exactly is but we can make some educated guesses. The most obvious theory is that Qimir is actually looking to acquire knowledge on how to twist the Force to create life. This is obviously the knowledge that the Witches of Brendok had since they managed to “give birth” to Osha and Mae, without a male being present. It can also be a bridge that we’re missing between him and Darth Plagueis, who is theorized to at least be mentioned in the show.

Considering that one of the mothers said that Osha and Mae would be killed by the Jedi order when they figured out how they were created, we can safely assume that the witches practiced what seems to be a side of the Force aligned with the Dark.

Qimir obviously needs to get his hands on either Osha or Mae (or preferably both) to unlock some dark-side Force powers. There’s also a possibility that the twins, due to the unique nature of their birth, have some special powers that he desperately wants.

But as I’ve said this is just the most straightforward way to approach The Power of Two. Next up, it can also be a reference to the Sith Rule of the Two. It’s a very real possibility that Qimir is actually desperate to recruit an apprentice so he can take care of his Sith Master. Headland also recently confirmed that the show will include one more Sith Lord, and we’ve speculated extensively on their identity.

Now the last but not least important theory is that Qimir is actually searching for Dyad.

A Force dyad, first seen in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ between Rey and Kylo Ren, is a mysterious connection that ties two beings together through the Force, allowing them to access unique abilities like communicating and passing matter across great distances.

Qimir might be trying to create a dyad with one of the twins (Mae or Osha) or tap into a potential dyad between the sisters. Some believe Mae and Osha have had a dyad-like connection from the start, possibly due to their mothers forcing such a bond.

If Mae and Osha’s clan artificially created a dyad, unlike the natural one between Rey and Kylo, it could explain why the Jedi are so interested in the sisters and want their family to stop experimenting with the Force.
