Agatha debuted in the Disney+ series ‘WandaWision,’ as the nosy neighbour-turned-powerful witch who tried to steal Wanda’s powers. By the end of the show, Agatha is defeated and trapped in her noisy neighbor persona, left powerless, which will obviously translate to the first episode of the show. The two characters share a connection from the comics, with Agatha being one of the most powerful magic users in the Marvel Comics Universe.
It wasn’t surprising when it was decided that Agatha would get her own show, the first spinoff derived from ‘WandaVision.’ Now since the release date for ‘Agatha’ is getting closer the studio also revealed the first teaser trailer for the show, and it looks stunning!
The show will focus on Agatha as she tries to regain her powers. After breaking out of her containment in Westview, New Jersey, Agatha Harkness loses her powers and seeks out unexpected allies to help her regain her former abilities.
The teaser trailer also showcased the Witches’ road. Witches’ Road is a mystical plane of existence where the powers of female witches are increased when compared to male warlocks. The show also gave us the first glimpse of Salem Seven.
The cast of ‘Agatha’ includes several actors reprising their roles from ‘Wandavision,’ along with many new faces. Kathryn Hahn returns as Agatha Harkness, and Debra Jo Rupp is back as Sharon Davis. Emma Caulfield Ford and David Payton also reprise their roles as Sarah Proctor and John Collins, respectively. New additions to the cast include Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal, Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan, Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu, Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer Kale, Ali Ahn as Alice Wu, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley as Hulkling.
‘Agatha All Along’ is set to debut on Disney+ on September 18, 2024, with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases of the remaining seven episodes until November 6. The series is set within Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
