Only a few weeks now stand between us and the release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The movie is expected to be a massive hit and expectations are pretty high. A couple of reasons for it are that it’s the only MCU movie releasing this year, and Feige also confirmed that it’s going to be a massive landmark for the future of mutants in the MCU.
Partially, it’s due to statements of the cast and creators who keep hyping the movie and cameos with statements such as “It’s the best movie I’ve ever made.”
While we are eagerly waiting to see whether these claims have merit, Reynolds, Jackman, and Levy are currently on a press tour promoting the movie. They revealed several juicy details regarding the upcoming movie. In their latest interview, Reynolds was asked, considering that his character is canonically pansexual, whether there is a sexual tension between his and Jackman’s character.
Reynolds gave us a highly entertaining and completely in-character answer:
REYNOLDS: I can’t speak for Wolverine, but I feel like Deadpool has sexual tension with everything and everyone.
JACKMAN: Don’t deny this is special.
REYNOLDS: There is a … you’re right. I feel it right now. My God, like two magnets facing the wrong direction.
The cinematic version of Deadpool was also confirmed to be pansexual with several references, but his most notable relationship was with Vanessa played by Morena Baccarin who is confirmed to reprise her role.
Vanessa was a huge plot driver in the second installment of the franchise, with Deadpool going back in time to alter the timeline and bring her back to life. It’s important to note however that Vanessa and Deadpool won’t be romantically involved in the upcoming movie, and she apparently already has a new boyfriend, so who knows? Maybe something can happen between Deadpool and Wolverine.
