There’s less than a week between us and the release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The recently released trailer for the movie gave us our best look at the Deadpool variant – Lady Deadpool, yet. A figure in the trailer can be seen sporting a blond ponytail, which means that certain types of rumors were bound to resurface once more.

For close to a year, Taylor Swift was rumored to appear in the movie as Lady Deadpool. The signs that pointed toward it were numerous. The singer is good friends with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, and Reynolds himself made references to the singer in numerous promotional materials for the movie.

Reynolds and Levy had numerous opportunities to debunk the rumors, however, they fueled them with their mysterious statements and stranger answers, after all the movie can use the extra attention. Then, a few weeks ago it was announced that Swift would not appear in the movie, and that was it until the above-mentioned trailer was released.

Due to the hair color, fans started second-guessing the official debunk of Swift as Lady Deadpool as one older photo of Swift in the Deadpool costume resurfaced.

On Reddit, fans shared a photo of Swift in a Deadpool costume. This image is a throwback to her 2016 Halloween cosplay, not a leaked image from an upcoming movie.

Reports reveal that Swift’s Halloween costume was the actual outfit from the first ‘Deadpool’ film, as the main actor and the singer are privately good friends. Still, this was enough to once again fuel a wave of rumors.

In all honestly, the most likely candidate for playing Lady Deadpool is Blake Lively, or Ryan Reynolds himself. I guess we’re going to get our confirmation soon.
