‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ has recently released its final episode. The reactions were once again mixed with some fans praising the inclusion of Yoda and Darth Plagueis and some fans once again disappointed with the overall direction that the story has taken.

It’s no secret that ‘The Acolyte’ has been a target of both review-bombing and review-boosting. It seems that the show failed to attract average viewers, attracting only fans who praised it and fans who hated it.

Yesterday we reported that ‘The Acolyte’ Rotten Tomatoes audience score has seen a jump from an initial 13-14% to 17 %, now today the show has found itself on RT’s 25 “Most Popular Shows to Watch Currently” list, in the company of ‘House of the Dragon,’ ‘Supacell’ and the latest season of ‘The Boys’ which also recently concluded.

Rotten Tomatoes is not the first site to indicate that ‘The Acolyte’ is extremely popular, a couple of weeks ago we reported that according to some numbers ‘The Acolyte’ is the second-most popular show in the franchise, ahead being only ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi.’

The devil is in the details as they say, since popularity charts more often than not rely on “online presence,” the more people engage with the show the more popular it is, they don’t differentiate between negative and positive interactions.

On Rotten Tomatoes specifically, ‘The Acolyte’ has seen more reviews than all seasons of ‘The Mandalorian’ combined. Most of them have been negative, but it’s interaction nonetheless.

One more explanation can also be Headland’s recent campaign among fans to secure a second season for the show. Leslye Headland told fans that they can ensure that the show will get a second season by talking about the show online, leaving positive feedback, and ignoring IMDb ratings. All sound strategies, but the overwhelmingly positive response for a show that ignited so much hate over the last month seems…strange all of a sudden.
