If you’ve been following the MCU fan community in the last few years, you’ve probably noticed that the negativity surrounding the projects has significantly increased. Following the release of ‘Endgame’ the studio has struggled to find notable stories to tell and the quality of writing has been described as abysmal.

There are also numerous criticisms pointed toward the fact that the studio is replacing the core Avengers members with irrelevant characters that presumably “no one cares for.”

This resulted in the last several MCU projects flopping, with the exception of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ the movie which managed to be both critically acclaimed and profitable. ‘The Marvels,’ a big second installment of ‘Captain Marvel’ franchise lost a record amount of money, currently standing as the lowest-grossing MCU movie of all time.

Now this sentiment that the MCU is currently bad is obviously not only echoed among fans, it’s been talked about in Hollywood as well. At least if Jamie Lee Curtis is to be believed, during her SDCC appearance, Curtis was asked in what phase is currently MCU and the acclaimed actress answered with “Bad.”

This is not the first time that the actress has thrown shade at the popular superhero franchise. In 2022, Jamie Lee Curtis made a series of social media posts comparing her film ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ to Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ noting that both films explore the multiverse concept. Curtis accused ‘Doctor Strange’ of mimicking her film’s artwork, suggesting that her movie, despite its smaller budget, outshines Marvel’s. She praised ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ for its heart, visual appeal, performances, and fight scenes, claiming it achieved more with significantly fewer financial resources.

“Is it JUST me? Does it seem STRANGE that our tiny movie that could and did and continues to do ##1movieinamerica and is TRULY MARVELOUS, out marvels any Marvel movie they put out there @everythingeverywheremovie has a Marvel movie coming out with a copycat poster? Is this one of those Internet feuds?”

“MARVELOUS! It has a deep BEATING heart and BRILLIANT visual treats, EXTRAORDINARY performances and FANTASTIC BEASTLY FIGHT SCENES…… AND it COST LESS than the ENTIRE craft service budget on Doctor Strange and/or any other Marvel movie.

“COMPETITIVE? F*** YES. I wasn’t head cheerleader in high school for nothing. And P.S. our movie has a dynamite dildo fight scene as well as a very erotic hotdog hand mating dance and rocks.”

Jamie Lee Curtis won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” and the movie is in my subjective opinion better than MoM, but claiming that Strange was a ripoff of her “Everything Everywhere All At Once” is a bit funny.
