Scheduled for release on February 14, 2025, Captain America: Brave New World will be the penultimate movie in the MCU’s Phase Five. Anthony Mackie will take on the mantle of Captain America, succeeding Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers from the previous films, with a notable twist in the story.

Additionally, Thaddeus Ross, a familiar character in the MCU, will play a crucial role in the film. The trailer has revealed that Ross will finally transform into the Red Hulk, generating significant excitement among fans. Harrison Ford, who has taken over the role from the late William Hurt, will portray both Ross and Red Hulk.

We’ve already shared some of Ford’s comments about his role, but the actor recently appeared at San Diego Comic-Con, where he offered additional insights, according to Entertainment Weekly.

We knew Harrison Ford would be stepping into the late William Hurt’s role in Captain America: Brave New World, but the fact that he would be transforming into the Red Hulk was kept under wraps until it was finally revealed in the trailer. Ford commented on the challenge of keeping the secret, saying, “I knew it was a spectacular secret to keep. Unfortunately, the secret’s out of the bag.”

When asked why he chose to join the MCU, Ford’s response was notable given his recent comments that he took the role primarily for financial reasons—a point we’ve covered previously. Although his answer at SDCC was less direct, it remained consistent with his earlier statements.

“I had seen other actors in the Marvel universe — well respected, really good actors — have a really good time. And I said, ‘I want me some of that. And I got some.’”

Lastly, the legendary actor was asked whether Indiana Jones or Thaddeus Ross was better at handling snakes—a nod to his Indiana Jones films and the fact that Giancarlo Esposito will be playing the leader of the Serpent Society in the movie. Ford responded:

“I’ve always treated these questions with the utmost respect and somehow, at the same time, complete disdain. I will not answer that stupid question. But thank you for the opportunity.”

A fittingly humorous response from Harrison Ford to wrap things up!
