Could Hugh Jackman Still Be Playing Wolverine in His 90s? Don’t Count Him Out!

For many fans, Deadpool & Wolverine was the most anticipated film of the year, as it finally reunited Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine—a team-up fans have long been eager to see. Wolverine is the role that has defined Hugh Jackman’s career, and while many believe he’ll eventually have to step away from it, the actor might not be ready to say goodbye just yet.

Now in his mid-50s, Jackman has proven with Deadpool & Wolverine that he’s still more than capable of taking on physically demanding action roles. His fitness is nothing short of incredible, and he shows no signs of slowing down. Recently, he even made a joke that delighted fans everywhere.

In a humorous Instagram post, Hugh Jackman teased that he might still be playing Wolverine in 2058, hinting at the possibility of continuing the role well into his 90s. Could it really happen?

Before we go any further, here’s the Instagram post we mentioned earlier:

As you can see, Hugh Jackman playfully hinted at the possibility of returning as Wolverine in 2058—34 years from now, when he would be 90 years old. While the comment was likely made in jest, the idea isn’t entirely far-fetched if we think about it.

There are several examples of actors continuing their careers well into their 80s and 90s. For instance, Harrison Ford is set to appear as Thaddeus Ross, the Red Hulk, in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World at over 80 years old. Other actors like Derek Jacobi, Patrick Stewart (remember Professor X?), and Ian McKellen (who’s still open to playing Gandalf) have all continued working in their later years. So, if Hugh Jackman stays healthy, who’s to say he couldn’t return as an older Wolverine?
