Anthony Mackie’s Hilarious Rant About RDJ Being Cast as Doctor Doom: “I hope I get to punch Robert Downey Jr.”

Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU is one of the biggest entertainment stories right now. Marvel made a splash at San Diego Comic-Con, and this major announcement has everyone buzzing about Downey and the exciting future of the MCU.

While most fans are thrilled—both because Robert Downey Jr. is back and because the MCU is set to introduce Victor Von Doom into the main storyline—one of his fellow actors doesn’t seem to share the same excitement.

In a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly, Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson (formerly The Falcon, now Captain America) in the MCU, delivered a hilarious rant about why he’s not thrilled about RDJ’s return. He even joked about looking forward to picking a fight with him. Fans are loving Mackie’s comedic take on the situation!

Anthony Mackie is known for his great sense of humor, and this isn’t the first time he’s delivered a brilliant response when asked a question. Previously, the actor had shared his thoughts on Downey’s casting with a memorable comment:

I better kill him first. I get first dibs to knock him off. Yeah, he’s going to pull a hamstring or something, I am going to take him down. I am not going lightly into this dark night.

You know what makes me mad? I thought I was good. Like, I came out and everybody was like ‘Oh my god, that’s the best trailer ever.’ I’m like ‘I got Harrison Ford. Ahhhh!’ So, we come off stage, and I hear ‘Robert Downey Jr. just announced that he’s coming back to the universe.’ And I’m like ‘But no, I just, I got Harrison Ford.’ I don’t even know what it’s called. ‘Doomsday,’ ‘Doommalicious.’ But he could’ve did that the day after. He had to do that at Comic-Con? Let me have Comic-Con, dawg.

Like, we go back dawg. Like, his chef dug a hole and cooked a goat, and stayed out there with the goat — this is a true story! I don’t even know where she got a goat. We was in Georgia! He cooked me a goat, he could have let me have that day. I hope I get to punch Robert Downey Jr. in the face for feeding me goat and then stealing my day.
