The final episode of The Boys Season 4, which aired on July 18, 2024, left fans awestruck, needing time to process the sheer craziness displayed on screen. The season, which premiered on June 13, 2024, and concluded on July 18, 2024, received a Certified Fresh rating, marking it as a major hit with impressive numbers.

Fans remain eager for more content related to the series, prompting ongoing updates, even on older moments from its history. This particular story, which dates back to Season 1, highlights the boldness of the cast and crew and the effort involved in creating the show’s standout moments.

The story focuses on a significant character from the franchise, known for being a frequent target of mockery, but who caused both Amazon execs and showrunners to sweat during Season 1 with a brilliantly comedic moment.

The character in question caused a significant issue during the photo shoot for an official Amazon calendar released in 2019. While most of the character poses in the calendar were straightforward, one particular shot created enough of a problem that the producers had to edit the original image. We’ll show you the edited photo below:

Believe it or not, the character in question is The Deep, a.k.a. Kevin Moskowitz. At first glance, the issue might be hard to spot, but a closer look reveals that The Deep is depicted with a notably large bulge in the photo.

In the series, The Deep is portrayed as well-endowed, and this image was meant to reflect that. However, actor Chace Crawford wore a prosthetic penis for the shoot, which resulted in an unintentional moment of comedic excess. When Amazon executives saw the final image, they were understandably upset:

“[Showrunner Eric] Kripke was like, ‘We get no notes from Amazon, but the first one we got was that can’t f**king happen, we’ve got to take that out,’ he said. And we had to edit it out.”
