Recently, Ranker conducted a large survey to determine the worst MCU movies. Fans ranked the top 10 worst MCU movies from 10th to 1st place, with the top spot being the least favored. We hope you find it as interesting as we do!

10. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever wasn’t terrible and is arguably the least problematic film on this list, but it lacked innovation. Unlike some other films, such as Multiverse of Madness, it wasn’t a chaotic mess. However, the film’s reception might have been affected by the absence of the late Chadwick Boseman, which disappointed many fans and led to dissatisfaction with how Marvel addressed his absence in the film.

9. Black Widow

A film intended to give Scarlett Johansson a fitting farewell ended up being an unnecessary and poorly received effort that many felt was unwarranted. Production problems and a subsequent lawsuit over royalties only compounded the issues. While Natasha’s backstory had potential, its execution fell short, resulting in a movie that failed to deliver.

8. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania’ Review

What on earth was this film thinking? While introducing Kang had its moments, the movie was plagued by poor decisions and made little sense overall. The first Ant-Man was enjoyable, the second was somewhat derivative but still entertaining, but this one was just… baffling. It definitely deserves a spot on this list as an example of the MCU at its most disappointing.

7. Iron Man 3

To be honest, this movie would have easily made our top three. Iron Man 3 was a disastrous film that seemed unnecessary, especially before the MCU began churning out one misstep after another. The plot was dreadful, the treatment of certain characters was unforgivable, and the twist was a letdown. The Mandarin is an iconic villain, and while Shang-Chi didn’t help his case, this film did even more damage.

6. Captain Marvel

Despite grossing over $1 billion, we believe this film doesn’t quite deserve its high placement on the list. It seems that fan backlash against Brie Larson may be influencing its ranking. While Captain Marvel wasn’t a masterpiece, it was a solid MCU film among many others and shouldn’t be in the top 10, especially when Multiverse of Madness is absent from the list.

5. The Marvels

This film, on the other hand, was a mess. Although it featured great characters and a solid plot, it came at a time when Marvel was churning out one disjointed film after another—movies that felt more like superficial symbols than substantial stories. This movie suffered as a result, and we’re confident it would have been better if it had been released earlier.

4. The Incredible Hulk

This movie wasn’t also half bad, especially when you consider the fact that it was made early in the MCU’s development, but with all the production issues and Norton’s subsequent firing, we can understand that fans don’t have such a high opinion on this movie. Maybe give it a better place and make it fairer?

3. Thor: The Dark World

This film is on par with Iron Man 3 in terms of its failure. The movie felt directionless, and after a promising start, it seemed Thor’s solo films were destined to falter. It was plagued by narrative issues and a poorly executed approach. Marvel attempted to create a darker story, but the blend of campy humor with a serious tone resulted in a film that didn’t work.

2. Thor: Love and Thunder

Just when we thought the Thor series had improved with Ragnarok, they delivered this disaster. By all measures, this is arguably the worst MCU movie: the plot was incoherent, returning characters were ineffective, and one of Marvel’s best villains in recent years was squandered in an instant. This film truly deserves its place on this list as a complete failure.

1. Eternals

While it’s understandable why this movie is ranked first, Eternals isn’t as terrible as it might seem. It is a weak film with a squandered premise and several issues, but it is generally comparable to other underwhelming entries like Black Widow or Wakanda Forever. There are movies on this list that are worse, but we can see why fans have a strong dislike for Eternals.
