Fans Rank the Top 10 Superhero Shows – Check Out the List!

Recently, Ranker conducted a major survey to determine the best superhero TV shows. Here are the top 10 superhero shows as voted by fans, ranked from 10th to 1st place, with the top spot being the ultimate favorite!

10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The original TMNT series initially ranked at #11 and wouldn’t have made the list, but check out our explanation at #4 to find out how it ended up here. Regardless, the original series is an animated classic and remains one of the standout cartoons from the 80s and 90s, solidifying the legendary status of the four iconic turtles. It’s a beloved show, and we fully support its place on this list.

9. The Punisher

The Punisher was an excellent series that seamlessly integrated with other Marvel shows. Given the tough competition, it’s surprising that it made the top 10 while shows like Loki, Gotham, and The Flash did not. Nevertheless, we’re pleased to see it on the list, as it was a highly popular series featuring a compelling protagonist, brilliantly portrayed by Jon Bernthal.

8. Batman Beyond

As the sequel to the original DiniVerse animated series, Batman Beyond was groundbreaking and revolutionary for its time. While it didn’t achieve the same popularity as The Animated Series due to its new direction and the introduction of Terry McGinnis, it has since become a cult classic. The exceptional storytelling and animation quality make it more than deserving of its place on this list.

7. Spider-Man

The classic 90s Spider-Man series unquestionably belongs on this list. Marvel aimed to compete with the innovative DC animated series of that era, and they succeeded admirably. Spider-Man has since become a beloved piece of animation history, cherished by several generations and earning its status as a timeless classic. This series rightfully deserves its place on the list.

6. The Boys

The Boys is the second live-action series to make this list, with animated shows largely dominating the rankings, and for good reason. However, The Boys stands out with its amazing, subversive, and utterly brilliant approach, which has earned it a devoted fan base and solidified its place among these animated classics. Its unique and groundbreaking nature makes it a deserving addition to the list.

5. X-Men: The Animated Series

Alongside Spider-Man, this series was undoubtedly one of Marvel’s best productions of the 90s. Given that it is still being continued today, it’s clear why it secured the #5 spot on this list. Beyond that, it is an exceptional show with remarkable characters and some of the finest storytelling in superhero animation, which is why we wholeheartedly agree with its placement.

4. Justice League

These cartoons were immensely popular in the early 2000s, building on the success of the Batman and Superman animated series. While not as iconic as The Animated Series, this show remains beloved by fans worldwide. It is still considered a classic and exemplifies how to do the Justice League justice (pun intended). Note that this listing includes both the Justice League series and Justice League Unlimited (originally #10 on the list), as they are treated as a single narrative unit.

3. Superman & Lois

While Superman & Lois is undoubtedly a fantastic show, we’re a bit surprised to see it in the top 10, especially at #3. It’s a pleasant surprise, though, as it’s clear that fans have a strong appreciation for it. With its compelling story and talented cast, the impending conclusion of the series may have prompted fans to boost its ranking. Regardless, we’re not complaining!

2. Daredevil

It’s hard to argue against the notion that Daredevil is Marvel’s best live-action show. Thanks to Charlie Cox’s exceptional portrayal, the series has earned its place as a true classic and one of the most cherished superhero series ever. With an outstanding cast and compelling stories, it’s clear why this show deserves such a high spot on the list.

1. Batman: The Animated Series

Was there ever any doubt that this series would claim the #1 spot? Batman: The Animated Series is the quintessential superhero show, unmatched in its excellence and authenticity. With Bruce Timm delivering top-notch production values and Paul Dini crafting unforgettable storylines, this series stands as not only the greatest superhero show ever but also one of the best TV shows of all time.
