Chris Evans Comparing His Muscles with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor Shows Us Again Why He Was the Perfect Choice to Play Cap in the MCU

To play a superhero, you often need to look like a superhuman, that much is obvious. Recently, fans have complained that Cavill and Jackman are promoting unhealthy body image as they often undergo drastic diets to portray themselves physically in the best possible light.

Actors need months of preparations for the role, especially if their on-screen character truly is superhuman and is expected to look like one on screen.

Two MCU’s superhumans (well one is technically an enhanced human and the other is not a human at all) are Captain America and Thor. Both Evans and Hemsworth are known for their impressive physiques and insane on-screen stunts.

Much of that is owed to their lifestyle and commitment to the type of roles they usually play. Recently a video resurfaced in which fans can see Evans commenting on Hemsworth’s physique.

The two actors reportedly compared muscles but Evans admitted that it’s really not a comparison at all:

There’s no comparison. I mean come on, it’s very difficult to stand next to him. He literally, he is Thor. It’s not just like a costume. He is enormous. It’s difficult to try and keep up.

The interviewer then asked Evans how does he keep up, and Evans admitted that it was mostly not him. He owes much of his on-screen presence to CGI and stuntmen.

Movie magic! CGI! Lots of help from stuntman, and ah…you know…

Plenty of commenters pointed out that this is exactly the humble and endearing nature that Captain America truly would display:

Whoever is responsible for casting Chris Evans as Captain America is a genius. Chris Evans is literally one of the most genuine, likable people ever.
