The Boys recently premiered its fourth season, amplifying its political commentary by clearly referencing real-world politics and portraying Homelander as a metaphor for Donald Trump.

This approach polarized the fanbase, leading to the review-bombing of the show. Despite these negative reviews and a drop in writing quality, the season achieved record viewership and remained a major hit with audiences.

As we await the final season of The Boys, the show’s brand and creators are keeping their presence felt on social media by frequently referencing current events. Recently, showrunner Eric Kripke mocked Donald Trump by sharing a photoshopped image of Snyder’s Justice League featuring Trump supporters instead of the original Justice League members.

Following the presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump on September 10, The Boys couldn’t resist joining the conversation. Moderated by ABC News, the debate covered various topics, including the economy, abortion, immigration, and race, and extended beyond the planned 90 minutes. During the exchange, Harris challenged Trump on multiple issues, including his rally crowd sizes, while Trump humorously referenced his red hats in response to Harris’s comments.

This debate is the subject of The Boys‘ latest social media post.

The Boys took a jab at Trump’s tendency to exaggerate reality and use “alternative facts” to make his point. While intended to be humorous, the post received backlash from fans who felt that injecting politics into every aspect of entertainment, including superhero shows, was becoming tiresome.
