Sony Including Knull in ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Is One of the Worst Mistakes We’ve Ever Seen in a Marvel Movie

More than a month stands between us and the release of ‘Venom: The Last Dance.’ The final installment in the ‘Venom’ franchise teased a lot of things across several trailers. The latest trailer dropped today and showcased the King in Black himself – Knull.

Now under normal circumstances, we would be extremely excited, but since this is Sony, which has an extremely poor track record with Marvel properties in the last few years, we’re afraid.

The first reactions to Knull were mixed at best since fans are afraid that Sony is going to mishandle the character. The premise is simple enough. Earth is bombarded by Symbiotes in the final installment, and it seems that those Symbiotes are running away from something and that something turns out to be the god of Symbiotes.

This means that Eddie and Venom are going to have to dance one last time and defeat the danger. Now Knull is not a villain you can just shove in a movie out of the blue, and defeat him over the course of a single movie. He is one of the most powerful and most popular villains in Marvel Comics, and it’s very likely that Sony is going to have to nerf him.

Knull is powerful enough to face and defeat some of the most terrifying cosmic entities, and quite frankly a single Symbiote – or even a group of Symbiotes, shouldn’t stand a chance against him.

There hasn’t been enough build-up for him in the Venom franchise. The hive was referenced yes, but not a single reference was made to Knull. This might mean that some fans who are not familiar with Venom’s comic origins, won’t realize the gravity and the danger Knull represents.

Knull should get his own solo movie at the least to properly build up to his clash with Venom, and fans would rather see him in the MCU. He is threat enough, an Avengers-level threat, that he would be a good choice to get his own Saga. No character currently in SSU is capable enough to defeat him. This either means that Knull will have to survive or he will have to get severely nerfed.

But, not all is lost, according to some rumors, Knull will appear in some later projects, so there’s still some hope that the character won’t get completely massacred (like what MCU did with Gorr). But this also gives credence to the rumor that Eddie will most likely die in the final installment, with Venom crossing over to the MCU.
