‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is MCU’s most recent installment, and so far, the most successful installment in some time. Much of that success can be attributed to cameos and various easter eggs that were cleverly implemented in the movie.
In one specific scene in the movie, TVA’s Mr. Paradox shows Deadpool a screen on which Thor can be seen crying hunched over Deadpool’s screen. Mr. Paradox says that Deadpool wasn’t supposed to see that as he changes the scene.
While Reynolds has previously teased that he knows why Thor is crying, he never bothered to reveal it to the world, and due to that, Chris Hemsworth is often asked about the scene.
During his recent interview with Black Girl Nerds, Hemsworth was once again asked about that specific scene and the actor said that it will probably be addressed in the future:
“I’m asking the same question, I don’t know. You’ll have to keep your focus on the Marvel Universe cause there will be an answer. It will be told one day.”
@heychalice I got to ask @Chris Hemsworth the question we all want the answer to… why is Thor crying? Full interview on @blackgirlnerds YouTube and site! @TRANSFORMERS in theaters 9/14! #transformersone #chrishemsworth #briantyreehenry @Paramount Pictures ♬ original sound – HeyChalice
In the absence of a logical answer, fans developed their own theories. One theory states that Deadpool will die during the events of ‘Secret Wars.’ In the ‘Secret Wars’ storyline, which partly inspired the upcoming movie, the Thor Corps served as the police force of Battleworld, hinting that different versions of Thor could play a big role in the film.
There’s also a storyline called ‘Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars,’ where Deadpool takes part in the 1984 Secret Wars, but his involvement was “accidentally erased.” This suggests the MCU might ignore Deadpool’s role, or that the TVA could somehow erase his contribution in the movie version.
But honestly, it was more likely that the scene is just one big joke and that it would never lead anywhere.
