In the early days of American comic books, back in the 20th century, there was just one narrative and one fictional universe. This single-universe approach lasted for decades until publishers began exploring “alternative stories,” giving rise to the concept of the multiverse. Over time, the multiverse idea has not only become a key feature in comic books but also a staple in superhero films.

The Multiverse itself is so complex that even characters within it sometimes struggle to grasp its intricacies. In the MCU, the fabric of a single reality began to fray at the end of the Infinity Saga, leading into the current Multiverse Saga.

As we know, the Multiverse Saga will eventually conclude, with Secret Wars marking its end. However, the MCU will continue beyond Secret Wars, prompting us to wonder: what’s next for Marvel? An insider may have some insights into the direction Marvel is headed!

The source in question is Alex Perez, who frequently shares rumors and updates on the Cosmic Circus. Here’s what he has uncovered about the future of the MCU following the end of the Multiverse Saga:

Vin: Hi Alex. Is there any chance Blade could come out AFTER Secret Wars?

Alex:  There is.

Vin: Do you expect Mahershala’s Blade to tie into the multiverse storyline in a major way?

Alex: I really don’t see how because I was told that the supernatural side of the MCU would be explored heavily post-Secret Wars. I’d also like to call back to one thing mentioned in Werewolf By Night: “The known universe, with its heroes and marvels, but what of the darkness? In our modern world, this is where monsters dwell…”

The way that Marvel wants to approach this supernatural storyline they’re cooking up is using the Werewolf By Night Moon Knight approach, stories that are set within the same universe, but there’s a boundary that separates them and have them be their own thing. It’s not to say that these characters will never pop up as part of a group ensemble storyline in the MCU, but they still want to keep them separate for the time being.

Marvel’s exploration of the supernatural has been limited so far, but given the events that have unfolded, it seems like a natural progression. There are several characters who could spearhead this new Saga, and we’re hopeful that Marvel will deliver a compelling storyline and a set of captivating characters for us to enjoy. The concept certainly holds promise.
