Only a few days stand between us and the release of ‘Agatha All Along.’ The show will see the return of Agatha Harkness, following her escape from imprisonment at the hands of Wanda. The twist is that Agatha will return to the world powerless and she will be forced to walk the Witches Road alongside her newly formed coven in order to reclaim her powers.
The show has an interesting premise and a stellar cast. The cast for the upcoming show features Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan, and Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer Kale. Ali Ahn will play Alice Wu-Gulliver, while Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, and Okwui Okpokwasili are set for roles yet to be confirmed. Debra Jo Rupp will appear as Sharon Davis, Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu, and Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal/Green Witch.
Now considering that ‘Agatha All Along’ was confirmed to be a part of a trilogy of shows along with ‘WandaVision,’ and the upcoming ‘Vision’ show, fans hoped that Scarlet Witch might return to the MCU in this specific show, considering the themes of witchcraft. There’s also the fact that Joe Locke’s character was recently confirmed to be Billy Kaplan aka Wiccan, Wanda’s reincarnated son in the comics.
Following the release of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ the general consensus in the fandom was that Wanda was dead. Scarlet Witch collapsed the temple on top of herself in one final act of sacrifice, destroying every single copy of Darkhold in existence.
Darkhold also recently appeared in one of the promo teasers for the show, lying in what appears to be a crib.
While Wanda was for all intents and purposes dead, some fans also found it highly unlikely that one of the most powerful characters in the MCU, the character that faced Thanos in an unflinching way could die in such a manner. There are rumors that she is returning in her solo movie, perhaps even in the upcoming ‘Vision’ show.
Kathryn Hahn recently sat down on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and confirmed that as far as she knows Scarlet Witch is dead in the MCU to her knowledge.
Fans cleverly pointed out that we never saw the body and it’s not like characters stay dead in the comics. Wanda can return through a plethora of ways including Witches Road and through a variant, so, we are still holding out hope:
