We’re Pretty Sure Rio Vidal Is Gender-Bent Blackheart – Here’s Why

‘Agatha All Along’ debuted with its first two episodes, and while audiences are enjoying it, critics are less enthusiastic. The series picks up after ‘WandaVision,’ featuring Agatha—now known as Agnes—living under a spell cast by the Scarlet Witch until she is freed by Locke’s character, The Teen.

Together, Agatha and The Teen seek to navigate the Witches Road: The Teen is on a quest for power, while Agatha aims to reclaim her own, having returned powerless.

The show doesn’t look like it’s part of the mainline MCU all that much, since that magical part of the MCU wasn’t really explored despite Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch being massive characters. The show really lays a solid foundation for some characters potentially connected to Ghost Rider and Midnight Son, if you’re paying attention to the clues.

One of the first supporting characters we meet is Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal, confirmed to be a green witch before the show’s release. To walk the Witches’ Road, Agatha needs a coven, so she visits her former “friends” and “acquaintances.” Eventually, she seeks out Lilia Calderu (Patti LuPone), a witch who provides her with a list of potential recruits. Among the names, there’s a symbol—a black heart.

Agatha correctly deduces that this symbol represents a green witch. While she initially considers her neighbor Mrs. Hart (Debra Jo Rupp), Rio Vidal also fits the description, hinting at a complicated past between the two that may involve a romantic connection.

Agatha explains the black heart by noting that Lilia used a black pen when drawing it, but it could also suggest something darker tied to Mephisto.

Now you see Mephisto was rumored to appear in both ‘Agatha All Along’ and the upcoming ‘Ironheart’ show which will also explore magic in the MCU. So, what better moment to introduce his son- or in this case, his daughter – Blackheart?

Yes, based on that Black heart we can assume that Rio Vidal is actually Blackheart a gender-bent version of the character.

Blackheart was created from the buildup of evil in a place called Christ’s Crown, New York, which has been tainted by centuries of violence and sin. Mephisto, drawn to this growing darkness, formed Blackheart from this energy and raised him as his heir, teaching him how to corrupt everything and everyone.

As a demon, Blackheart has powerful supernatural abilities. He can use dark magic, alter reality, and possess superhuman strength, speed, and endurance. He can also teleport, read minds, and project energy.

Blackheart often faced off against Ghost Rider, and with rumors of Ghost Rider joining the MCU, along with mentions of Jennifer Kale and other hints, ‘Agatha All Along’ may be hinting at a potential ‘Midnight Sons’ project.
