New Reports Reveal When We Can Expect Wanda To Return to the MCU & It’s Connected to Doctor Doom

Wanda was never merely a character in the MCU; she began as a villain, transitioned into a hero, and then evolved into a tragic figure with a heartbreaking backstory. After losing everything, she reverted to villainy before ultimately becoming a sort of hero again by destroying the Darkhold and reportedly taking her own life.

The ending of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ left many questions unanswered, and the official statements surrounding the issue did little to clarify whether Wanda is still alive within the MCU.

Fans expect Wanda to return any day now to the MCU, either in ‘Agatha All Along’ or in the upcoming ‘Vision’ show, but the most recent rumors state that we will have to wait just a bit longer.

Industry insider and leaker MyTimeToShineHello recently posted that Scarlet Witch will be returning to the MCU in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and that she will have a massive role:

As you’re probably aware by now, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will also pit the rest of the MCU against Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.

We have no idea which story the MCU will adapt for the upcoming movie, but we can speculate based on Wanda’s and Doom’s interaction in the comics that it might partially adapt ‘Children’s Crusade’ storyline.

This storyline was also rumored to be adapted in the context of Wiccan, as the character is apparently set to get his own standalone show according to some older rumors, which would in turn lead to Scarlet Witches’ standalone movie.

Since Wiccan has joined the MCU, played by Joe Locke, we can sort of see how it’s easy for this rumor to come true.

In ‘The Children’s Crusade,’ the Young Avengers embark on a quest to find and confront the Scarlet Witch. The Scarlet Witch caused a catastrophe with reality-warping abilities, and her actions in the ‘Avengers Disassembled’ and ‘House of M’ storylines had significant consequences for the Marvel Universe.

So, what does this have to do with Doctor Doom? In this storyline, Doom attempts to manipulate Wanda to achieve his own ends. He has a particular interest in her powers, seeing them as a means to attain greater power.

It’s quite possible that Doom will attempt to capture and drain Wanda of her powers in ‘Doomsday’ in order to save reality from collapsing following incursions. Doom will manage to get Scarlet Witches’ powers and create Battleworld which will in turn lead to ‘Secret Wars.’

Since the first time around, Doom used Beyonder’s powers to shatter reality and create Battleworld, it’s quite possible that Scarlet Witch might serve as a placeholder for Beyonder in the MCU, considering her reality-warping powers and her status as a Nexus Being.
