Season 4 of ‘The Mandalorian’ Reportedly Not Happening

Jon Favreau, the creator of ‘The Mandalorian,’ revealed that the script for Season 4 was completed before Season 3 ended, but now it appears that the fourth season may not take place at all.

Season 3 concluded with Moff Gideon seemingly defeated and Mando adopting Grogu, creating a sense of peace that suggests a new threat would need to emerge for Season 4 to be viable.

Following the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA and writers’ strikes, rumors began circulating that ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 4 might be scrapped entirely in favor of a movie. These rumors gained traction with news that Pedro Pascal will not physically return for the series due to commitments to ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 and the ‘Gladiator’ film, meaning he would only provide Mando’s voiceover.

Those rumors were confirmed several months ago with the announcement that a movie centered on The Mandalorian and Grogu is in development. Announced in January 2024, the film began filming in California in August 2024.

So, what’s happening with ‘The Mandalorian’ season 4? If notable industry insider, Daniel Richtman, is to be believed, the fourth season is not happening at all.

As I’ve already mentioned, rumors of the cancellation were present for at least 9 months up to this point. Six months ago Brendan Wayne, known for his role as the physical manifestation of (Pascal provides voice-overs) Din Djarin in ‘The Mandalorian,’ stated on The Chatooine Show on YouTube that there are currently no plans for a season 4 of the series.

He mentioned that Lucasfilm and Disney are now focusing on a feature film.

No [Season 4]. I know that we’re doing a movie for sure, that’s what I know.

Nothing has been confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney, but based on everything, the situation doesn’t look good at all.
