New Rumor Hints Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man 4’ Could Be Titled ‘Spider-Man: King in Black’

Spider-Man’s story stands out as the most complex among MCU superheroes because Sony, not Marvel Studios, holds the character’s rights. As a result, the earlier Spider-Man films had no connection to the main MCU.

However, when Tom Holland took over the role, Sony and Marvel collaborated to produce three films featuring the young star.

While details about ‘Spider-Man 4’ remain scarce aside from Kevin Feige’s confirmation that it’s in development, numerous rumors are circulating, particularly about the film’s potential ties to the Venom series.

This connection was hinted at in No Way Home, where Venom briefly appeared in the MCU before being sent back, leaving behind a fragment of the symbiote.

Now, with Venom: The Last Dance introducing Knull, recent speculation has focused on this storyline, with some fans claiming to have uncovered the title of the next Spider-Man film.

Recently, a major rumor surfaced online, suggesting that the title for the upcoming Spider-Man 4 has been revealed:

A more reputable rumor source later shared this, lending credibility to the original tweet:

It’s now quite evident where this rumor is coming from. Speculation has been circulating that Knull is set to make his big-screen debut, initially as a cameo, with more appearances to follow. Given the Symbiotes’ connection to Spider-Man’s story, it’s no surprise that people are linking the two universes and that these rumors are arising from that connection.

While it’s likely that Knull will eventually face off against Spider-Man, it’s still uncertain whether this will happen in Spider-Man 4 and if he’ll be Tom Holland’s main antagonist, or possibly the villain for another Spider-Man. Remember, Andrew Garfield was often speculated to be the Spider-Man of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU).

Regarding the rumored title, if the connection holds true, it would make sense. However, there’s a major consideration—Marvel’s Spider-Man movies have consistently revolved around the “Home” theme, so this potential title would mark a significant shift, and it’s unclear if Marvel is ready to change Tom Holland’s branding. That said, the previous trilogy was labeled the “Home trilogy,” suggesting the MCU might be moving away from that framework.

In any case, the rumor is out there, so stay tuned for more news and updates!
