Since the release of the latest trailer for Venom: The Last Dance, discussions have centered around an unexpected revelation that validated many fan theories regarding the series’ true antagonist, confirming that several old rumors were indeed accurate.
As many fans have now learned, Knull, the formidable ruler of the Symbiotes, is set to make his on-screen debut in Venom: The Last Dance.
This is an important move for Sony, signaling their intention to give Venom and Eddie a fitting sendoff in a high-profile film, and it appears to be paying off, as interest in the movie continues to rise.
While the rumor mill is buzzing, our focus in this report is on Tom Hardy, who plays Eddie Brock. Although Hardy has repeatedly stated that he is finished with the role after The Last Dance, it may be time to reevaluate his future in the series in light of these new developments.
As you may know, Tom Hardy has been the heart of the Venom trilogy, and despite some disappointments with the films, he has consistently delivered a standout performance. His charisma has been key to making the franchise endearing. However, while he takes pride in his accomplishments, the actor has clearly stated multiple times that he is finished with the role after The Last Dance.
Thankyou for a great time – and 7 years. I’ve had the best experience @Sony working with Venom – this is me and the big guy last outing going out with a Bang!!! Come see us off – last in the trilogy and done ❤️ we have had such a great time Thankyou.
LAST ONE – THE BIGGEST BEST MOST FUN OF THEM ALL – IT’S Been an absolute joy bringing these two to the big screen – Thankyou for the good times and the support we hope you love it as much as we have making them.
While Tom Hardy has made his intentions clear in his Instagram quotes, Sony’s plans involving Knull and a potential crossover with the MCU could change the narrative. It seems unlikely that Sony would let Hardy go after such a successful run, especially since they intend to feature Knull in more films, which would be difficult to pull off without Venom.
While it’s possible for Venom to find a new host (as seen in the comics), many fans might not accept a different actor stepping into Hardy’s role.
This raises the question of why Hardy would be saying his goodbyes if he knows about Knull’s involvement; it’s improbable that Sony would keep him uninformed about future plans. Thus, either Hardy is deliberately misleading us for a dramatic return, or he is genuinely leaving the franchise, which could imply a grim fate for Eddie Brock, while Venom may continue on with a new host.
