Insider Claims Amadeus Cho Is Finally Joining the MCU

The Incredible Hulk was released in 2008, around the same time as Iron Man, and was the second film in what would eventually become the MCU. However, it remains one of the MCU’s most controversial entries, largely because it doesn’t hold the same iconic status as other MCU films.

There are several reasons for this, but the most significant issue is the major recasting of the Hulk. Edward Norton, who originally played the character, was replaced by Mark Ruffalo in the MCU’s biggest recast to date, marking the only time a major hero has been recast in the franchise.

While Ruffalo has done well in the role and is set for more screen time, a rumor from reliable insider DanielRPK suggests the MCU may be preparing for a post-Hulk era—or at least a time with two Hulks in the main MCU (or even three, if you count She-Hulk).

In case you’re unfamiliar, Amadeus Cho is a relatively new Marvel character introduced in 2005 by Greg Pak and Takeshi Miyazawa. Although he’s still a modern addition to the Marvel universe, Cho has played significant recurring roles in various stories. He’s always portrayed as a superhero but has adopted several different aliases over the years.

In the comics, Cho first appears when he wins a “young genius” competition organized by Pythagoras Dupree. Dupree, who is ranked as the sixth-smartest person in the world, attempts to assassinate Cho to maintain his position.

Cho survives the attack, but his parents are tragically killed. When the Hulk later saves him from Dupree’s men, Cho sees the Hulk as a heroic figure who only reacts to the aggression of others.

Cho next appears during the World War Hulk crossover, where he assembles a team of Hulk’s former allies—including Angel and Hercules—from the supergroup Champions. Despite their efforts, they fail to stop the Hulk, even with the help of Namora.

Eventually, in The Totally Awesome Hulk #1 (2015), Cho takes over as the Hulk from Bruce Banner, adopting the alias Brawn. Unlike Banner, who viewed his Hulk powers as a curse, Cho embraces his new abilities with confidence.

Why this introduction? Take a look at the tweet:

As you can see, DanielRPK reports that Amadeus Cho is set to join the MCU, with Ghostbusters alum Logan Kim cast in the role—a choice that seems spot-on. While plot details remain under wraps, it appears Marvel is planning ahead.

Cho will likely be introduced in a smaller capacity before either replacing Bruce Banner or working alongside him in future projects. Either way, it promises to be an exciting development.
