Fans Divided Over Controversial MCU X-Men Fan Casting Choices

The MCU is gearing up to introduce the Mutants, something we’ve known since Disney acquired Fox. While you could argue that the Mutants have already made a few brief appearances, the X-Men themselves haven’t yet entered the MCU.

Although their full debut is still some time away, Marvel has promised a major introduction in the future.

Even though we don’t know all the details, it’s clear that Feige and Marvel are taking their time to get it right. The X-Men’s arrival in the MCU will be a major moment and will shape the franchise for years to come.

Given the importance of this debut, fans are understandably anxious about who Marvel will cast. With an already-established X-Men universe, comparisons between the old and new casts are inevitable.

Although we don’t have any official casting news yet, a Reddit user, Time-Classroom-2442, has shared their own fan casting list—and it’s definitely sparked some discussion. Keep reading to see why.

It’s widely expected that Ryan Reynolds will continue his role as Deadpool in the MCU, and there are rumors suggesting that Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart might return as Wolverine and Professor X. However, these are just speculations for now. With no official confirmation, fans have taken the opportunity to create their own casting ideas. One such fan list has sparked a lot of controversy online:

• Wolverine: Hugh Jackman if he agrees to return then no brainer. Otherwise can go for Daniel Radcliffe. Cannot consider Tom Hardy as the Venom is now canon in the MCU. (Unless MCU decides to go the Gemma Chan way). Other options can be Ben Affleck, Taron Eggerton or Scott Eastwood.
• Charles Xavier: Patrick Stewart. Mostly Confirmed in Multiverse of Madness.

• Magneto: If Patrick Stewart is returning, then Sir Ian McKellen might also return. Otherwise Gary Oldman is an option.
• Deadpool: Ryan Reynolds. No other option. Only Reynolds.
• Quicksilver: Since Evan Peters has already played what was a poor rendition of Pietro Maximoff (still traumatized by that Bohner Joke) and the canon Aaron Taylor Johnson Quicksilver dead, if MCU decides to bring Quicksilver from another dimension, my vote will go to Dave Franco. Other options can be Tom Felton and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

• Storm: Zoe Kravitz would be a great option.
• Nightcrawler: Timothee Chalamet would be perfect as Kurt Wagner
• Mystique: If Jennifer Lawrence is open to returning as Mystique then no brainer. If not then I would like Rebecca Romijn to reprise her role from the original X-Men from 2000 and she has expressed her interest in it. Other options can be Ana de Armas, Alexandra Daddario or Margot Robbie.
• Kitty Pryde: Emma Watson would be perfect to play her. Although wanted Ellen Page to return but now she’s Elliot Page so Emma Watson.

• Beast: Kelsey Grammar expressed his interest in reprising Beast. Other options can be Benocio Del Toro (If again MCU goes the Gemma Chan Way).
• Cyclops: Jacob Elordi is the best choice to play Cyclops.
• Jean Grey: If Sophie Turner returns then well and OK. Other would love Kennedy McMann to play Phoenix.
• Colossus: Would love Stefan Kapicic to reprise his role from Deadpool movies.

• Rogue: Natalia Dyer can be a good choice for Rogue. Other options can be Lily James or Ariel Winter.
• Emma Frost: Katherine Winnick will be great as Emma Frost. Sydney Sweeney is another great option.
• Iceman: Dylan O’Brien is one option. Aaron Ashmore is a close second.
• Bishop: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is a very good choice. Michael Jai White is also another good option.
• Sunspot: Want Henry Zaga to reprise his role from the New Mutants.

• Psylocke: Christina Chong is a great option. Sonoya Mizuno is another casting.
• Angel: Alex Pettyfer is a fine option for Warren Worthingon III. Logan Lerman is also a very fine option.
• Juggernaut: MCU can either use Ryan Reynolds to voice Juggernaut like they did in Deadpool 2 or they can bring back Vinnie Jones to reprise his role from X-Men movies.

• Havok: Douglas Booth can be a great choice to play Alex Summers**. Ansel Elgort** can be a good 2nd Choice.
• Gambit: Ryan Gosling can be perfect as Gambit. Channing Tatum can also be a pretty good Gambit.
• Cable: Although I wanted Josh Brolin to reprise his role of Cable from Deadpool 2, he is unfortunately also Thanos in the MCU and who knows if he wants to join MCU again or not. If not then Ray Stevenson will be a great Cable.

• X-23: Dafne Keen might reprise her role as X-23.
• Sabretooth: Would be great if Liev Schreiber reprises his role from X-Men Origins Wolverine. Otherwise Alexander Skarsgard is a great option for Sabretooth. Jason Momoa also can be a very good option.
