‘Agatha All Along’s’ Episodes 6 and 8 Could Trigger Anti-Woke Backlash with Upcoming NSFW Scenes

Even before ‘Agatha All Along’ premiered Aubrey Plaza hinted that Rio Vidal’s and Agatha’s relationship in the show might have some romantic connotations. Something which Kathryn Hahn also confirmed in subsequent interviews.

Episode 4 finally teased that romance revealing that the two did in fact have a messy relationship in the past. A relationship that left Rio Vidal with a massive “Agatha-shaped” emotional scar.

The same episode almost saw the two characters kiss. After finishing the trial both Rio and Agatha are overwhelmed by emotions and they embrace, stopping shy from kissing on screen.

Marvel Studios confirmed that the two are romantically involved, sharing their image to celebrate international lesbian day with an appropriate X post, featuring both characters almost kissing.

Strangely, despite being incredibly inclusive and gay-friendly, ‘Agatha All Along’ did not see the amount of backlash that for example, ‘The Acolyte’, a Star Wars show featuring a coven of lesbian space witches.

This might soon change.

According to the show’s IMDb page, Samantha J. McDonald is credited as the show’s intimacy coordinator for episodes 6 and 8. An intimacy coordinator is a professional who helps manage and choreograph scenes involving physical intimacy, such as sexual content or nudity, in film, television, and theater.

Their primary role is to ensure the safety, comfort, and consent of actors during these scenes, while also helping directors achieve their creative vision.

We don’t know what episodes 6 and 8 will be about, but based on the presence of the intimacy coordinator we can expect some spicy scenes, presumably between Rio Vidal and Agatha Harkness. The scenes might be flashbacks, showcasing their past relationship, but still…

Gay relationships are nothing new in the MCU, but this would be the first time that something very explicit is shown on-screen, which means it would generate quite a backlash among anti-woke fans.
