Henry Cavill Reportedly in Talks for a Big Role in the MCU – Here’s 5 Roles He Could Play

Henry Cavill’s career seems to be in a strange place currently. The actor lost his Superman role when Gunn took over DCU, and due to that role which was seemingly promised to him, he left ‘The Witcher’ production. He is currently working on several projects.

The actor is notably set to star in the upcoming ‘Voltron’ movie, ‘Highlander’ reboot, and is developing ‘Warhammer 40K’ adaptation, with some troubling reports claiming that this project might be a bust.

Cavill’s most recent appearance was in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ as one of the Wolverine variants. Now notable scooper and leaker with a somewhat mixed track record, MyTimeToShineHello claims that he is in talks with the studio to get a bigger role in the MCU.

This is not surprising, nearly a year ago it was reported that Cavill would appear in a smaller cameo role (Wolverine variant) but that doesn’t mean that the actor won’t get a bigger role in the future.

Now as far as the potential roles go. The natural fit for the actor would be – Wolverine. With the upcoming ‘X-Men’ reboot, the actor could become MCU’s prime Wolverine following the ‘Secret Wars’ reboot. However, some rumors claim that Wolverine won’t be a part of ‘The X-Men’ reboot since the studio is holding onto Hugh Jackman for the time being.

The second potential role is also related to mutants, as Cavill is often fan-cast as Cyclops. According to the rumored reboot’s roster of mutants Cyclops will be present, and Cavill fits the bill almost perfectly.

One more role that’s been heavily associated with Cavill is that of Captain Britain aka Brian Braddock. The actor stated in the past that he would like to portray the character, even before he became a part of the MCU as a Wolverine variant.

After losing the Superman role, Cavill might want to revisit a similar role in the MCU as he is often fan-cast as Marvel’s take on the character – Hyperion. Keep in mind that there are no rumors or speculations that Hyperion will join the MCU, it’s just something that fans are seeing Cavill portray well.

Last but not least, and more probable than Hyperion, is that Cavill might play Beyonder. Beyonder was also not mentioned so far in rumors, but considering the upcoming ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’ it’s possible that the MCU might introduce a version of the character and fans would really love to see Cavill playing it.

In any case, no matter which role he eventually ends up playing, fans would love to see Cavill join the MCU “full-time.”
