‘WandaVision’ Actor Finally Addresses Him Being Recast in ‘Agatha All Along’

One of ‘Agatha All Along’ biggest mysteries was the identity of Joe Locke’s “The Teen.’ In the latest episode of the show during a heartbreaking moment following the death of Alice Wu, his identity was confirmed as that of Wiccan aka Billy Kaplan aka reincarnated Billy Maximoff.

Since the show began, the fans assumed that Teen was actually Billy, but the confirmation came only when Wiccan was shown with a crown similar to that Wanda was wearing, and his magical powers manifested in full.

Now we know that Billy Maximoff already appeared in the MCU in the show ‘WandaVision.’ The character was actually portrayed by 3 different actors in the show – Ari Friedman as a baby, Baylen Bielit as a 5-year-old, and Julian Hilliard when the character was supposed to be 10 years old.

It’s not that surprising that Julian Hilliard was recast since the events of ‘Agatha All Along’ needed Billy to be much older. Hence where Joe Locke comes in, the 4th actor to play the character.

Recently, Hilliard addressed the recasting on his personal X account, stating that he fully supports whatever role Locke is playing in the MCU:

Hilliard, at 13 years old, is too young to play Wiccan, considering that Locke is 21 years old currently. The exact reason why Wiccan is so much older than when we last saw him in the MCU hasn’t been revealed yet, but it likely has something to do with how he and his brother Tommy came to exist. The boys were always aging rapidly.

Hilliard might still return to the MCU through flashback sequences, however, and many fans noted in the comments that he played Billy well in the show.
