Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker is coming. Over the course of two weeks, director Todd Phillips has released not one but two posts detailing his Joker. While they are a dramatic departure from the versions we’ve seen in years past, they look great.
Just about a week ago, a video was released showing Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. The video showed him transitioning from an unpainted civilian into the Clown Prince of Crime. With it, the internet blew up.

I’ll be the first to admit that when I heard Joaquin Phoenix was set to play the Joker, I was a little apprehensive. My apprehension is fading fast as more and more photos become available.
The Joker is set to be released in October of 2019. The movie will mark the first attempt at giving a backstory to the character. If the costumes and photos are any indication, we are in for a much-needed treat.
