Marvel Studios Reportedly Developing the First Video Game Set in the MCU

Video games based on the Marvel Universe are nothing new. Over the last decades, fans had the opportunity to play as their favorite Avengers, Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other popular characters.

The games encompassed a wide variety of genres and play styles, and some have been better than others.

We never however had a game set in the MCU. All video games so far released that were remotely connected to the MCU were all universe-adjacent, meaning that the player didn’t directly inhabit the universe that we see in the movies and TV shows.

If the latest MyTimeToShineHello rumors are correct, that might soon change. According to the popular leaker and insider, with a somewhat mixed record, Marvel Studios is developing a video game set in the MCU.

Nothing is known about the project so far and keep in mind that it wasn’t even officially confirmed. If the rumors turn out to be true, this is not the first time that such a game has been attempted.

Back in 2022 EA and Marvel Studios announced an Iron Man game that was at the time in the pre-production phase.

We are thrilled to collaborate with the talented team at Motive Studio to bring their original vision of one of Marvel’s most important, powerful and beloved characters. heir experience delivering both established entertainment worlds and thrilling gameplay — combined with their authentic passion for the armored icon — will fuel our quest to deliver a love letter to a legendary hero in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game.

Needless to say, the game didn’t get any updates since then, and we’re unsure whether it’s still in development, but the project in question that MTTSH was referencing is likely not connected to that.
